Nature documentaries abound, covering the various species as they embark on their epic migratory journeys. From bird flocks to wildebeasts on the savannah to even monarch butterflies, these travels and travails are captured in dramatic fashion.
Currently, another group shift is taking place in the corporate world, where a growing number of companies are pulling up stakes and seeking out more verdant economic landscapes, escaping harsh environments wrought by Democrat tax policies.
It is enough to warrant its own Netflix documentary. Have David Attenborough narrating the footage of these fiscal nomads, and title it “March of the Corporate Titans”.
In a surprisingly rapid succession, we are seeing a rash of news reports detailing how companies are announcing they are seeking out new locations for their corporate headquarters, and/or the CEOs are making the decision to relocate their expansive homes to more welcoming environs. That this presents another harsh lesson to be learned, while at the same time being roundly ignored by Democrat leadership, is the norm.
With all of these shifts taking place, the one constant is that the habitat being left behind is one that is decidedly blue. The list continues to extend, and the states and local governments continue to exert confiscatory policies, operating with an unearned confidence that companies and the wealthy do not have the ability to uproot and find fertile ground elsewhere.

Assholes fart and then leave the room. Too bad there’s not some way to force them to stay in the states they helped befoul.
They say it is “unfair” that states like Florida have no income tax. The reality is that Florida, as an example, is doing nothing, and the other states are the ones imposing tax laws on themselves that put them at a disadvantage.
But pointing a finger is far easier than looking in a mirror, and the result is that the very policy preventing their schools from drawing the best players is also forcing out companies and taking jobs along the way. Look at the examples:
STARBUCKS
Washington state taxes are inspiring Seattle’s signature corporation to diversify. It is setting up a satellite headquarters in the middle of the country, and moving a number of its executives to that Nashville location. Along with this decision, the founder of the company is also on the move, as Howard Schultz is moving to Miami after living in the area for more than four decades.
YAMAHA
The Japanese motor corporation has announced a gradual relocation to Georgia, beginning at the end of this year. A number of its other divisions have already been moved, but the corporate headquarters will be the final piece now, after 50 years in California.
EXXON
Facing both financial and environmental hostilities, the oil giant has just announced that its board of directors has unanimously voted to relocate to Texas. This is huge, given the company has been founded in and operated in New Jersey for over 140 years.
VALERO
For about a year now, another petroleum giant has been working on its gradual departure from California, scaling down its refinery output. As it turned off the taps and headed out of the state, last month, residents felt a $0.40 leap in gas prices within a week as a result. The company is so desperate to get out that it has been willing to absorb a $1.1 billion cost in doing so.
PALANTIR
The company that has previously fled California for the more favorable Colorado location is moving again, joining the others who are relocating to South Florida. Along with this, the CEO, Peter Thiel, is moving his home and other ventures at the same time.
THE CHICAGO BEARS
Yes, things are so bad that the Monsters of the Midway might actually migrate to Indiana. While teams relocating in sports is not all that uncommon, the fact that this team has played in the city, and at Soldier Field, for over a century, and is showing a willingness to seek out nearby Hammond, Indiana, is a jarring reality.
It’s not only companies… even BILLIONAIRES are leaving blue states.
We are seeing something of a tech-billionaire wave in South Florida. With the proposed billionaire’s tax arriving in California, the CEO of Meta (Facebook/Instagram/Threads parent), Mark Zuckerberg is taking his wealth and building his new home in the Miami area.
See here:
Blue companies and blue people are ruining Red states
And drag their blue-haired employees with them.

It won't have any immediate effect.
The bloated machinery of state governments now really exist off Fed.gov transfers and massive federal debt. This includes both blue states and red states, although Medicare increases disproportionately are going to Blue CITY democrats machinery
It should be no surprise that welfare and medicaid fraud occur in places like Minneapolis, Los Angeles and NY City.
Yep. Why Texas is getting bluer. Why Pennsylvania got purple.
I fail to understand how Exxon Mobil and Valero ‘befouled’ California.
Please explain.
That’s Fine...all the illegals, the somalians, and the blue haired white liberal women will make a fine tax base to replace them...right?
More like running away from a wildfire than migration.
I’m waiting for CA to pass an Exit Tax, like Ohio did years ago under Governor Celeste. Because so many companies were bailing out of Ohio because of taxes and unions, he passed a tax where the companies leaving the state had to pay the state 6 months wages to help defray unemployment insurance and retraining costs. A few months later, someone with one neuron still firing notice there were no new business formations since the bill was passed. Well, duh!
To their credit, they quickly repealed the act. Still, Newsom is dumb enough I expect him to pass a similar law.
And just yesterday Washington State enacted a state income tax for the first time. That will accelerate the exodus from WA.
See my post #7.
The money is there, and will continue to grow, which is distributed to the democrat base of bloated state/local government, education bureaucracy, and vast welfare/medicaid spending. That all gets recycled into rigging state governments for the Left and funding their cronies
Texas is not immune.
I’ll give it a go...
Presume that these titans have been voting Dimocrat all their lives. That work for ya?
(in other words, they helped make the conditions so bad that they had to flee because the conditions have become so bad since it is Dimocrats who run everything where they currently are, and these fleeing titans helped to make things bad by voting nothing but Dims) (my head is hurting)
One of the many great things about the USA - states have a lot of say on their own rules and laws. If it works best for the people, the other states notice and can use these best practices, unless of course they are in NY IL or CA.
Alexis D’Toqueville observed that Democracy in America is not in the government, but in the market place. In America people vote with their feet whether to live in a city or unincorporated area. We vote with our feet what county and state to live in. We vote with our feet what church, social club and what little league team to watch. We vote with our money what to buy and where to buy it....or to save and not buy ... or to give to charity and neither buy nor save...
Whether we are 1st generation anchor babies or 5th generation anchor babies, our forefathers set the pattern by leaving the old country for this new experiment in a new type of society.
When the Irish, the Polish, the Cubans or any group came to the US they brought their religion and customs with them.
Likewise, when people move from the Inner City to the bungalow neighborhood and then to the suburbs and then to another state, they bring their religion and customs with them. Oftentimes they bring to their new home the customs that created the problems in their previous home.
I am typical. I fled IL for GA seeking to flee the corruption that is IL. Many of my new neighbors fled the Democrat Northern states for GA. They bring with them precisely the things they did not like and why they fled. Most notably: A JOB. There are plenty of jobs in TN, GA, FL, TX. There are no jobs in IL, NY, etc. It looks like soon there will be no jobs in CA.
The challenge of MAGA is to WAKE UP the new immigrants in red states. Ask: Why did you flee? Do you really want to bring with you that which you fled? Here in GA the Republican party is too busy infighting to evangelize to anyone, new comers or native Georgians.
The best example of Red idiot politics is the special (runoff) election in Jan 2021 for 2 US Senate seats. MAGA voters (mostly in NE GA) were pissed at other Republicans and boycotted the special election That is why we now have 2 US Senate Democrats.
The problem is that the universities use government money to give tenure to people whose job it is to make children totally unprepared morally and intellectually incompetent for adulthood. the genius of it is that the profs even tell the kiddies that the reason for their incompetence is the failure of capitalism and not the failure of the universities to train the students to live in today’s world.
Correct. They are escaping high taxes but keeping their voting habits because they are perpetually filled with vanity.
