In a phone interview with CBS News Monday afternoon, President Trump said the U.S. war with Iran could almost be over.
"I think the war is very complete, pretty much," the president said, speaking from his Doral, Florida, golf club. "[Iran has] no navy, no communications, they've got no air force. Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones."
The president said the U.S. "could do a lot" about the strait and threatened Iran if it inhibits the waterway. "They've shot everything they have to shoot, and they better not try anything cute or it's going to be the end of that country. … If they do anything bad, that would be the end of Iran and you'd never hear the name again." The president also said the strait is open now and claimed ships have been entering the strait, but said he is still "thinking about taking it over."

The same afternoon the president said the war is “very complete, pretty much,” the Department of Defense posted on X, “We have Only Just Begun to Fight” and “no mercy.”

Yet last night Hegseth said something completely different and also the military tweeted out “This has just begun” just now Trump was talking and said “Til the enemy is defeated” so I think they are all over the map here. The regime is NOT defeated, yes things are going ahead of schedule. My Mom talked to her cousin today in Israel and she thinks this goes on for another two weeks, but this war cannot end til the regime is DESTROYED, keeping them alive regardless of whose in charge is still a win for Iran even with no navy, no military, and no ships
I'm guessing we can't expect the people of Iraq to help out with this.
Mismanaged messaging. I won’t be jumping off the Trump-train unless he pops up on an aircraft carrier with a giant banner that says “Mission Complete” and we’ve got boots on the ground.
Iran. I meant “the people of Iran.”
Consider that this “war” actually, under the covers, ultimately, had nothing to do with Oil, the Strait of Hormuz, missiles, nukes.
I look forward to the Reveal of what it actually was.
Thank you for your attention to this Matter.
“I’m guessing we can’t expect the people of Iraq to help out with this.”
Kinda hard to do with no weapons.
Yes...though better than publicly and clearly transmitting all of the strategy to the enemy like some administrations have done.
That leaves Russia, and Chi-na.
Well can ya blame them. First of all, Trump told them to stay inside til its safe, secondly, as long as the Govt survives, the people in Iran will be terrified, basically nothing changes, they will still be killed if they protested
“I look forward to the Reveal of what it actually was.”
Well, im thinking russian and china would be a pretty safe bet
What Jimmy Carter should have done.
Yeah even though I DESPISE the media, the ONE thing they have been right on since the beginning is that this Administration is all over the place. NO ONE is on the same page, first Trump said he would be pleased if the Kurds got involved, it would be wonderful, the next day he changed his mind.
The Strait of Trump has a nice ring to it.
So who's going to help them? Us? That's always worked splendidly. History shows it, over and over.
Is it possible that the wat does not end exactly when we want it to?
It seems obvious enough to me that Iran is Trump’s answer for the trap that the smarmy europeons and demonicrats set in the Ukraine.
“Oh, to bad - the money’s all gone.”
At least it’s doing something for the nation that pays for everything.
