Gas will be below $3 soon, Energy Secretary Wright says, as he insists US won’t target energy infrastructure in Iran

Gas prices will dip below $3 a gallon “again before too long,” Energy Secretary Chris Wright promised Sunday — as he denied the US was targeting energy infrastructure in Iran.

“The Trump administration has been all in on lowering energy prices, and I would say quite successfully,” Wright told CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday. “We have seen a dramatic decline in gasoline prices, in diesel prices. Soon, you will see it in electricity prices as well.”

The national gas price average is $3.45 a gallon as of Sunday, per the American Automobile Association. It was just below $3 before the Operation Epic Fury attacks on Iran began a week ago.

Video of hellish black clouds and massive infernos ravaging Tehran went viral late Saturday after Israel struck various fuel sites in the area.

The US didn’t target those, but didn’t the Israelis blow up a bunch of plants?

The oil belongs on the market to bring prices down. It looks like we can control where Iran and Venezuela’s crude goes to some extent. All we need to do is make sure no nukes are being built and the oil is not subsidizing an attack on Taiwan. Ukraine-Europe’s problem.

It shouldn’t matter what is targeted. We have more than enough oil and gas in NA. Nothing over there should affect a thing. OPEC needs to go. Yesterday.

MSM suddenly cares about gas prices. Biden strangled supply and drove prices through the roof and then he raped the strategic reserves. Not an f’n word about either back then.

Sheeeeeyit. We’re up to almost $2 a gallon in gas tax alone here in Commiefornica. Spare me your fake pity. I know you’re not really sorry to hear that.

Ask yourself what does Iran have to do with our gas prices. Answer is simple, nothing. Just price gouging by profiteers. Most convenience stores are owned by immigrants from India and Pakistan. They see an opportunity and raise the price. US owned companies follow in lockstep because they can cash in on a windfall. One points at the other to shift the blame.

Last time I checked, Canada was not part of the US. I was using official US Energy Department numbers. Please show where my numbers are wrong!

The Energy Secretary shouldn’t promise anything. Bad move.

It does not mean two, three, or more weeks from now.

Trump needs a new Energy Secretary.

We have more than enough oil and gas in NA. Nothing over there should affect a thing.

That would have meant something when it was illegal for U.S. producers to export crude oil, but not anymore. If the global price of oil is $100/barrel, then nobody is selling it here in the U.S. for $60/barrel despite any delusions Americans might have.
