The CIA’s 1953 coup in Iran was all about money. The Prime Minister of Iran at that time was planning to nationalize the country’s oil business and eliminate Britain’s involvement. Britain didn’t have the capability to conduct its own coup, so they begged the CIA to help them accomplish it.
