Oregon urges SNAP recipients to seek employment and training services as rules expand

“PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Recent federal changes are expanding work requirements for some Oregonians who receive SNAP food benefits, prompting state agencies to urge recipients to connect with free job search and training help through WorkSource Oregon. The Oregon Department of Human Services and the Oregon Employment Department said more people who receive SNAP must now show they are working, looking for work or participating in training to continue receiving benefits”

I am truly shocked! Gov.Kotex, Waxface Wyden and Moron Merkley must be getting very nervous about their jobs…… Perhaps they’ve been reading the comments sections and see that even a number of Portlanders hate their guts now.

SNAP and every other welfare program should be terminated period. You’re responsible for yourself not the government and not my tax money.

I don’t think that will happen as the biggest welfare is medicare. Yes we pay for it, but one major operation more than exhausts the lifetime taxes contributed and that’s just the beginning. Social security is another where most get way more than they put in.

I’d rather they focus on SSI and especially SSDI. I’m sorry but I know some on SSDI because of anxiety. Ridiculous!
