“PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Recent federal changes are expanding work requirements for some Oregonians who receive SNAP food benefits, prompting state agencies to urge recipients to connect with free job search and training help through WorkSource Oregon. The Oregon Department of Human Services and the Oregon Employment Department said more people who receive SNAP must now show they are working, looking for work or participating in training to continue receiving benefits”

Yep. That and they took a look at what Trump is doing and had an “Oh sh!+, he’s serious!” moment.
Yes, and another requirement not talked about was signing up for the selective service, aka the draft!
SNAP and every other welfare program should be terminated period. You’re responsible for yourself not the government and not my tax money.
If you would like more information about what’s happening in Oregon, please FReepmail me. Please send me your name by FReepmail if you want to be on this list.
I don’t think that will happen as the biggest welfare is medicare. Yes we pay for it, but one major operation more than exhausts the lifetime taxes contributed and that’s just the beginning. Social security is another where most get way more than they put in.
I’d rather they focus on SSI and especially SSDI. I’m sorry but I know some on SSDI because of anxiety. Ridiculous!
Replace “urges” with “requires” and we’ll talk...
Medicare, SS, SSI, SSDI all need to be “phased out”. They’re nothing but ponzi schemes and the federal government needs to stay the hell out of anything welfare related period.
Yes I’m collecting SS and use Medicare and as stated PHASED OUT. I could have done far better investing than the government did and if folks blow their money vice investing that’s their problem not mine.
You definitely could have done better in social security. Medicare I’m not so sure. But phase out is the way to go. Perhaps anybody accepting the thousand dollar trump account is ineligible for social security would be a great start.
