Sir Keir Starmer has told MPs that the government "does not believe in regime change from the skies", putting him at odds with President Trump over the joint US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
In his first statement to Parliament since the strikes, Sir Keir defended his decision not to permit the use of UK bases for the initial wave of attacks.
"President Trump has expressed his disagreement with our decision not to get involved in the initial strikes, but it is my duty to judge what is in Britain's national interest," he told MPs.

From the guy who almost singlehandedly destroyed, yes destroyed, Britian.
BLAH BLAH BLAH
So says the Rump Empire.
But he does believe in regime change by importing more jihadis.
“Sir Keir Starmer has told MPs that the government “does not believe in regime change from the skies””
Not sure of the ultimate outcome but for sure Ali Khamenei is no longer in charge of anything.
Warfare has been increasingly conducted remotely from afar for some time now. That is nothing new.
I could imagine Trump saying “Yes some criticism is fair. All of this is taking far too long. We would like it to be over in a few days. A lot depends on what the Iranian people do to shape their destiny and create a new government without ambitions of nuclear weapons, etc.”
Screaming at us across the pond from his sinking island.
Not a good look.
Carney of Canada at least backs the US. One of the colonies seems to be at variance with Herr Starmer.
He’s still got time.
Well ok. The worlds oldest third world country sides with Ayatollah’s and imports their Jihadis.
The post-world-War era of the 1900s is over. Not to mention Argentina war over Falkland’s. Time to Exit. Costs too much. Not worth it.
The “special relationship” is over.
Close the US bases in Britain. What good are they if we cannot use them?
Pull out of NATO. Let Muslim countries like England and France defend themselves.
Starmer is concerned that we are taking out a Muslim country and that England could be next
Starmer is proof that no matter how much a dweeb you are you can still have a career in politics and become knighted. It’s very disheartening that while our nation is making a stand in the world Europe is committing suicide - and congratulating themselves along the way.
<< “it is my duty to judge what is in Britain’s national interest,” >>
Yeah, like importing a fat chunk of Pakistan, right Keir?
No, he only believes in regime change from rafts on the sea.
After the mid-terms I hope the 47 admin goes after Starmer, Carney and the the other western Quislings.
Since Britain has become a Muslim country, can we bomb Parliament and 10 Downing St. Just kidding. Mostly.
Starmer criticises Trump over Iran strikes, as he defends UK position of not being able to defend UK bases
,,, he hasn't got a track record of acting in Britain's interests. What a reptile. Come hell or high water he will keep working for the immigrants who he's assisting in taking over the UK.
Why is a progressive of the people accepting a title? Hypocrite!
