Ayatollah So

Some of the supposed character “flaws” of @realDonaldTrump are precisely those that are needed to be a courageous and bold global leader." Gad Saad

You’ve got to think: if the US military can pinpoint one room in Teheran with a Grand Ayatollah and 39 other high officials in it, then the US military can figure out where Iran’s missiles are being launched from and put a stop to that, too. With no high command left, Iran’s missile batteries have been on their own since Saturday, desperately trying a kind of last-ditch “Samson option” to light up the whole region and bring the House of the Middle East down with Iran.

Firing on the Emirates, and Saudi Arabia especially, was maybe not such a hot idea. Saudi Arabia’ air defenses intercepted almost all the drones aimed at their giant Ras Tanura oil refinery. Falling debris started a small fire that was contained while the refinery shut down safely. Iran has reawakened the centuries-old rift between Shi’a and Sunni Islam and Saudi Arabia has been stockpiling war planes from the USA for fifty years without getting to use them much. I doubt they’ll pass up the chance.

Who does speak for Iran now? Just naming a successor to the Ayatollah Khamenei would put a target on his turban. Iran’s Intel Service building was blown up on Sunday, so that network must be dark. How is Iran’s government and its remaining military command communicating? And how would US and Israeli intel not be listening in on whatever chatter is out there?

The world fretfully expects Iran to try to close the Strait of Hormuz, but how does that happen with tanker traffic halted and most of Iran’s navy blown up and its naval command headquarters destroyed? Without the ships to do it, it’s unlikely that Iran will be laying out minefields in the Strait. Or that any tankers will be around to sink in the channel.

President Trump has declared a four-week window for Operation Epic Fury. Sounds a little too generous. With no command structure left and no viable communication, you might give the Islamic Republic one more week, maybe. It’s a tossup whether they run out of missiles and drones before all their launch-sites and stockpiles get bombed. Meanwhile, a US / Israeli info operation that hacked Iran’s state-run TV seeks to persuade Iranian army personnel and government bureaucrats to turn on what remains of the theocracy and think about forming a secular government. Why would they stick with the loser regime?

Of course, the Trump-deranged political opposition in America is ululating over this effort to put the world’s leading fomenter of terrorism out of business. The New York Times is especially glum, claiming, “The American public’s appetite for an attack on Iran was low before Trump and Israel took action.” Maybe the Jacobin-Democrats they cater to feel that way, since the party has been increasingly synchronizing with the forces of Jihad since the Oct 7, 2023, Hamas raid. After forty-seven years of ayatollahs, what part of “Death to America” don’t they understand?

Not a few prominent figures on the Right also deplored Operation Epic Fury. The increasingly rogue Trump-hater and Israel vilifier, Tucker Carlson, called the action “disgusting and evil.” MTG called it “unnecessary and is unacceptable.” Blackwater founder Erik Prince colored it as “not serving America’s interests and inconsistent with President Trump’s MAGA agenda.” Rep. Thomas Masie (R-KY) framed his objection in Congress’s prerogative to declare war — though the War Powers Act of 1973 permits the president to conduct military operations for 60 days after notifying Congress of his intentions.

You can understand why people are nervous about this, with so many commentators predicting World War Three and Biblical Armageddon. The Fourth Turning narrative asserts that a major war is inevitable at this moment in history. Maybe so. But Ukraine has already happened and is on a glide path to its conclusion. And Operation Epic Fury does not have to turn out badly for all concerned, including Iran. Other more sanguine observers see a more peaceful and prosperous Middle East emerging from the smoke, a fulfillment of the Abraham Protocols, and the termination of Iran-sponsored proxy wars, terror programs, and medieval social despotism.

Epic Fury looks like a turning point for Western Civ more generally as regards tolerating Jihadi insolence — its declared intent to destroy all its “infidel” enemies, meaning you and me and the remaining indigenous population of Europe. The strife Iran managed to stir up all around the Middle East and beyond for decades was largely responsible for the mass migration into Europe and the dispersion of millions into the USA during “Joe Biden’s” open border years. Citizens are now rising to oppose Islam’s aggressive promotion of Sharia Law and demographic replacement in Texas and other states. Expect bolder resistance to all that now, here and in Europe, too.

However this thing goes, Iran will not acquire a nuclear arsenal, and this was, after all, the main issue. Anyway, the Iranians must be sick of the rule of the mullahs. Mr. Trump told them some weeks ago that “help is on the way.” He meant what he said, he didn’t chicken out, and now it’s up to the people of Iran to sort out how they enter the future, starting now.

Leftists don’t misunderstand, they AGREE.

“...then the US military can figure out where Iran’s missiles are being launched from and put a stop to that, too”

Better yet, go upstream and utterly destroy all of their missile factories.

“...Saudi Arabia has been stockpiling war planes from the USA for fifty years”

I read this morning that SA has 250 F-15s and the USA has 220 F-15s. Just for scale comparison. Of course, we also have F-16, F-22, F-117, F-35, etc. But I found it interesting how many F-15s that SA has.

Tucker, MTG, ET AL were “on the right” for as long as the clickers kept clicking.

Today, I believe it would be accurate to state that they are “on the write.” They will say and write anything they believe will get them more clicks.

THey have both extpressed hatred of Jews and Israel. Sometimes more hidden (as with MTG) but Tucker Qatarlson went batsh*t crazy a while ago with the “Jews are the cause of all the problems”; along with Candace Owens. I think it’s more than clicks; it’s mental/spiritual blindness.

“Better yet, go upstream and utterly destroy all of their missile factories.”

From what I read, the US military is doing just that. Along with the uranium enrichment facilities.

EXACTLY! Very shortly before he was assinated, Charlie Kirk stated that Islam is the sword the leftists are using to destroy America. Well, they’ve tried. Now all the Mohammedans in the US are going to be under a microsope, whether Shia or Sunni. Who cares.

Radicals had a revolution 47 years ago; no telling how many Iranians were on board with it.

It was a revolution, the fanatics forced him out. This is Wikipedia, so... it’s all I can find at the moment.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iranian_Revolution

The Iranian Revolution,[Note 1] or the Islamic Revolution,[3] was a series of events that culminated in the overthrow of the Pahlavi dynasty in 1979. The revolution led to the replacement of the Imperial State of Iran by the Islamic Republic of Iran, as the monarchical government of Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was superseded by Ruhollah Khomeini, an Islamist cleric who had headed one of the rebel factions. The ousting of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, formally marked the end of Iran’s historical monarchy.[4]

In 1953, the CIA- and MI6-backed 1953 Iranian coup d’état overthrew Iran’s Prime Minister, Mohammad Mossadegh, who had nationalized the Anglo-Persian Oil Company.[5][6][7] The coup reinstated Mohammad Reza Pahlavi as an absolute monarch and significantly increased the level of influence of the United States over Iran.[8]

In 1963, the Shah had launched the White Revolution, a top-down modernization and land reform program that alienated many sectors of society, especially the clergy. Khomeini emerged as a vocal critic and was exiled in 1964. However, as ideological tensions persisted between Pahlavi and Khomeini, anti-government demonstrations began in October 1977, developing into a campaign of civil resistance that included communists, socialists, and Islamists.[9][10][11] Mass protests were underway. A key turning point occurred in August 1978, when the Cinema Rex fire by Islamic militants killed around 400 people.[12][13] However a large portion of the public believed it was a false flag operation by SAVAK (State Police) to discredit the opposition and justify a crackdown, fueling nationwide outrage and mobilization. By the end of 1978, the revolution had become a broad-based uprising that paralyzed the country for the remainder of that year.[14][15]

On 16 January 1979, Pahlavi left Iran for exile,[16] leaving his duties to Iran’s Regency Council and Shapour Bakhtiar, the opposition-based prime minister. On 1 February 1979, Khomeini returned, following an invitation by the government;[17][18] several million greeted him as he landed in Tehran.[19] By 11 February, the monarchy was brought down and Khomeini assumed leadership while guerrillas and rebel troops overwhelmed Pahlavi loyalists in armed combat.[20][21] Following the March 1979 Islamic Republic referendum, in which 98% approved the shift to an Islamic republic, the new government began drafting the present-day constitution of the Islamic Republic of Iran;[22][9][10][23][24] Khomeini emerged as the Supreme Leader of Iran in December 1979.[25]

The revolution was fueled by widespread perceptions of the Shah’s regime as corrupt, repressive, and overly reliant on foreign powers, particularly the United States and the United Kingdom. Many Iranians felt that the Shah’s government was not acting in the best interests of the Iranian people and that it was too closely aligned with Western interests, especially at the expense of Iranian sovereignty and cultural identity.[26][27] However others perceived the success of the revolution as being unusual,[28] since it lacked many customary causes of revolutionary sentiment, e.g. defeat in war, financial crisis, peasant rebellion, or disgruntled military.[29] It occurred in a country experiencing relative prosperity,[17][24] produced profound change at great speed,[30] and resulted in a massive exile that characterizes a large portion of Iranian diaspora,[31] and replaced a pro-Western secular[32] and authoritarian monarchy[17] with an anti-Western Islamic republic[17][23][24][33] based on the concept of Velâyat-e Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist), straddling between authoritarianism and totalitarianism.[34] In addition to declaring the destruction of Israel as a core objective,[35][36] post-revolutionary Iran aimed to undermine the influence of Sunni leaders in the region by supporting Shi’ite political ascendancy and exporting Khomeinist doctrines abroad.[37] In the aftermath of the revolution, Iran began to back Shia militancy across the region, to combat Sunni influence and establish Iranian dominance in the Arab world, ultimately aiming to achieve an Iranian-led Shia political order.[38]
