Bill Gates "took responsibility for his actions" over ties to late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a town hall meeting with employees of the Gates Foundation, a spokesperson for the philanthropic group told Reuters in a written statement on Tuesday.

The spokesperson's comments came in response to a Wall Street Journal report, which said that Gates had apologized to staff during the town hall over his ties with Epstein.

Documents released by the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) have indicated that Gates and Epstein met repeatedly after Epstein's prison term to discuss expanding the Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab founder's philanthropic efforts.

According to the Journal report, Gates told staff that it was a huge mistake to spend time with Epstein and bring Gates Foundation executives into meetings with the sex offender. The report cited a recording of the comments Gates made in the town hall.

"I apologize to other people who are drawn into this because of the mistake that I made," he said, according to the newspaper.

The Journal added that Gates also acknowledged that he had two affairs with Russian women that Epstein later discovered, but that they did not involve Epstein's victims.

"I did nothing illicit. I saw nothing illicit," Gates told the staff, according to the report.

When Melinda Gates learned that Bill Gates is in the Epstein files, she hinted that her marriage to Bill was hurt by Bill’s association with Epstein.

‘He took responsibility’?
Besides discuss business, what else did he do?
And depending on what he did, it’s not for him to decide if ‘taking personal responsibility’ is sufficient. Every criminal alive would love to have that option as opposed to facing a judge and jury.

He’s absolutely full of it.

I live in Redmond, Wa. A friend lived in a neighborhood nearby and it was well known among the neighbors who was in the car that would arrive on a regular basis to a certain house in the neighborhood - and that person would stay for a while and then leave before end of day.

Who does he think he’s kidding? He was up to WAYYYY worse than an “affair” (as if it was romantic) with 2 Russian women.

How about he takes responsibility for being a member of a cabal that sought to destroy the US and entire Western Civilization and replace it with the pagan “Georgia Guidestones” with him and his shabby bunch in charge?

Too late for deep thoughts, but he’ looks and acts like the monster he is and any woman or girl who hit the sack with him would have to get paid to do it. Paid a lot.

He undoubtedly has B.O too. Gross.

Well that settles it, then.

The first notable example that sticks in my mind was AG Janet “Butch” Reno, who did one better, claiming in a press conference that she took “full” responsibility of the Waco, Texas debacle. A reporter naturally then asked if that included her resignation. Of course not, that’s not what she really meant. Why would she do that?

Those are just mouth noises, the phrase is intended as a magic incantation or something like that. Later, they can claim they took full responsibility, what more do you want?

I noticed the Gates foundation gave 75k to a local library out here in the sticks of Ohio. I have often wondered if there isn’t some “strange” books in the kiddie section.

Librarians are the most leftist people in the country and their salaries are paid for with your dime.

Blame would lie there.

Yes, you are right. The two I met there were obviously strange! My spidey sense was going off. Of course, They could have been hired to make sure there was strange stuff where it shouldn’t be. Not very far away is a small airport and a very secluded location with a 600 yard gated driveway.

Does that mean that like Otis on the Andy Griffith Show, he’s going to walk himself into jail and lock himself up?

Bill Gates "took responsibility for his actions" over ties to late financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a town hall meeting with employees of the Gates Foundation, a spokesperson for the philanthropic group told Reuters in a written statement on Tuesday.

I'm sure that, after a thorough investigation of Bill Gates, the Gates Foundation found that Gates was "entirely innocent."
