Yes, that’s exactly what he’s saying. It’s a continuation of his speech a couple months ago when he was talking up his life as basketball-crazed black kid, estranged from his dad and forced to make his own macaroni and cheese as his single mom worked 3 jobs to make ends meet. Now he’s taken it up a notch, elevating his black street cred with his semi-literacy and poor showing in standardized testing.
