BREAKING: SCOTUS Justice Clarence Thomas dropped straight TRUTH BOMBS in his dissent on the tariffs He nailed it.
"NEITHER the statutory text nor the Constitution provide a basis for ruling against the President." "Congress authorized the President to “regulate . . . importation.” Throughout American history, the authority to “regulate importation” has been understood to include the authority to impose duties on imports." "The meaning of that phrase was beyond doubt by the time that Congress enacted this statute, shortly after President Nixon’s highly publicized duties on imports were UPHELD based on identical language." "The statute that the President relied on therefore authorized him to impose the duties on imports at issue in these cases." "Because the Constitution assigns Congress many powers that do not implicate the nondelegation doctrine, Congress may delegate the exercise of many powers to the President." "Congress has done so repeatedly since the founding, WITH THIS COURT'S BLESSING."

Clarence Thomas will go down as one of the most brilliant justices in American history. As will justice Scalia.
.
Thomas is amazing, simply the best
The leftists have taken over SCOTUS. Roberts, Barrett are just marxist-light.
HOLY SMOKES. President Trump announces the Supreme Court has actually STRENGTHENED the president’s ability to enact tariffs, HUGE BACKFIRE
“SCOTUS made a president’s ability to regulate trade and impose tariffs MORE POWERFUL and MORE CRYSTAL CLEAR, rather than less.”
“There’s no longer ANY DOUBT, the income coming in and protection will ACTUALLY INCREASE because of the decision. I don’t think SCOTUS meant that!”
“Based on longstanding law and victories...the Supreme Court did NOT overrule tariffs. They merely overruled one use of IEEPA tariffs.”
“The ability to block, embargo, restrict, license or impose any other condition on a foreign country’s ability to conduct trade with the US under IEEPA has been FULLY CONFIRMED by this decision.”
“Now, there’s no doubt.”

Q: “What did you mean a moment ago when you said The Supreme court was swayed by foreign interests?”
TRUMP: “Foreign interests are represented by people that I believe have undue influence... they have a lot of influence over the Supreme Court whether it’s through fear or respect or friendships I don’t know. But I know some of the people that were involved on the other side and I don’t like them... I think they are real slime balls. You’ve got to do what is right for the country... what is right for the Constitution.”

The deep state strikes America again. Now what? This SCOTUS ruling against Trump’s tariffs may well cause the US to go broke but they’ll do anything to crash President Trump.
The fact that they held it to announce it just before the State of the Union says it all.
5-D chess, anyone?
It’s clear to me that Clarence Thomas should be the chief justice of the SC, not the boneheaded John Roberts.
🚨 JUST IN: Treasury Sec. Scott Bessent just STUNNED the "Experts," he and Trump have been making big plans and it's FULL-STEAM AHEAD
Tariff revenue will be *unchanged* in 2026. Boom.
"Let's be clear about what today's ruling WAS and what it WASN'T. Despite the misplaced GLOATING from Democrats, ill-informed media outlets, and the very people who gutted our industrial base, the Court did not rule against President Trump's tariffs."
"Six justices simply ruled that IEEPA authorities cannot be used to raise even $1 of revenue."
"This administration will invoke alternative legal authorities to replace the IEEPA tariffs."
"We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges."
"Treasury's estimates show that the use of Section 122 authority, combined with potentially enhanced Section 232 and Section 301 tariffs, will result in virtually unchanged tariff revenue in 2026."
Beautiful isn’t it. I remember posting today in a few other threads on this ruling it will not turn out like many thought and tariffs will not go away.
I remember saying it was limited only to the IEEPA and they basically did not rule out the president using tariffs, here we are :)
ping
I agree it is part of the Presidents duties. Why declare an emergency to do it?
"We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges."
"Treasury's estimates show that the use of Section 122 authority, combined with potentially enhanced Section 232 and Section 301 tariffs, will result in virtually unchanged tariff revenue in 2026."
If all of what is being said here is true, then why the hell didn't they go down that path in the first place? They *had* to know there would be legal challenges to thwart the tariffs.
100% Bullish. 100%.
I have long since concluded that Roberts is compromised, financially, or though some sexual preference or act. Or, he may just be a Leftist all along.
I admit I am universally disgusted with female justices in the Supreme Court. All of them who have ever existed...both Leftist and "conservative" ones. Note the scare quotes around "conservative".
Trump should skip the SOTU...it’s not mandated.
O.K. Scott Bessent, then why didn’t you and the other Trump admin finance and econ fellows advise Trump to simply use those other straight away legal options to begin with, and avoid the courts challenge over the rarely used emergency authority.
