NEW YORK CITY (WJW) – Officials have revealed a cause of death for “Pulp Fiction” actor Peter Greene, who was found dead in his New York City home late last year.
According to reports from People and other news outlets, the New York City Chief Medical Examiner office confirmed on Wednesday that the 60-year-old character actor died from a “gunshot wound of left axilla with injury of brachial artery.”
On Dec. 13, Greene’s manager, Gregg Edwards, confirmed that the actor died the day prior in his New York City home, adding that “He was just a terrific guy,” as The Associated Press previously reported.
The New Jersey native was best known for portraying the memorable villain Zed in Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 classic “Pulp Fiction.”
Among a slew of film and television show appearances, Greene appeared in “The Mask,” “The Usual Suspects,” and “Blue Streak,” according to IMDB.

Zed’s Dead.
We will never know the actually reason for the death. People get medical diagnosis for a terminal illness and they check out early. It is a sad part of life. But Jesus will take everyone into the heaven’s as long as Peter approves. :-(
This sort of user error is one of the reasons I prefer DA/SA function. Doesn’t replace fundamentals but it’s very hard to ND when there’s a physical block between anything the human can do and the firing pin.
(Yes, we know about the 3 Glock safeties and they work perfectly. This just works more perfectly.)
((Note: article doesn’t give those details. I’m extrapolating.))
You typically think of the brachial artery as in the arm where you might be able to apply a tourniquet. But the artery runs under the shoulder as well, which is where it appears to have been shot, if the article is accurate. Not much you could do there except seriously wound pack.
Now how one accidentally shoots oneself around the collar bone/shoulder blade is hard to picture.
Dont know anything about him other than I enjoyed the movies he was in.
That was my first thought, but its not consistent with the wound as described in the article.
Condolences to family and friends of Peter Greene.
“Now how one accidentally shoots oneself around the collar bone/shoulder blade is hard to picture.”
There some left side underarm conceal carry shoulder holsters, I suppose if you are an idiot you could manage such a shot.
My shoulder holster has the barrel aimed towards the ground and is secured at my shoulder and waist belt.
There is this #1 rule all gun users are taught, “Keep your finger off the trigger till target is acquired and you are ready to shoot”. Guns don’t fire by themselves.
The family gets life insurance if it’s an accident but not if suicide. Hard to shoot yourself accidently or intentionally that way though.

“It’s Not a motorcycle,
It’s a Chopper!”
Slept with gun under pillow?
Seems like a weird way to shoot yourself intentionally.
🤔
Paul is and was a great man.
Many life insurances pay out even if it is suicide. There is time limit, in other words you can not have bought the policy yesterday, but they do pay.
Double indemnity does not apply though as it is neither accident or homicide.
I learned today that upside-down shoulder holsters are still a thing.

Watched a clip from the first episode of Justified where Peter’s character is outdrawn and shot and killed by the main character. Quite an opening to the series.
usually there is a 2 or 3 year exclusion in case of suicide; after that, the insurance company is obligated to pay.
