Inside Trump’s $5 Billion Gaza Move That Could Shape Middle East’s Next Chapter

President Donald Trump announced Sunday that member states of his newly-formed Board of Peace have pledged more than $5 billion toward humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Gaza.

Trump said the commitment will be formally unveiled on Thursday, February 19, at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C. In addition to financial pledges, Trump said participating nations have committed thousands of personnel to both an International Stabilization Force and to local police units to maintain security and peace for Gazans.

“On February 19th, 2026, I will again be joined by Board of Peace Members at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., where we will announce that Member States have pledged more than $5 billion toward the Gaza Humanitarian and Reconstruction efforts,” said President Trump.

Trump outlined what he described as the board’s early achievements.

“The Board of Peace has unlimited potential. Last October, I released a Plan for the permanent end to the Conflict in Gaza, and our Vision was unanimously adopted by the United Nations Security Council. Shortly thereafter, we facilitated Humanitarian Aid at record speed, and secured the release of every living and deceased Hostage. Just last month, two dozen distinguished Founding Members joined me in Davos, Switzerland, to celebrate its official formation, and present a bold Vision for the Civilians in Gaza, and then, ultimately, far beyond Gaza—world peace.”

Trump ratified the board’s charter during a ceremony at the World Economic Forum in Davos; the organization, he says, is designed to bring long-term peace and economic prosperity to Gaza, which has had an economy largely supported by aid. “85% of the GDP of Gaza has been aid for a long time,” said Senior Board Official and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. “That’s not sustainable. It doesn’t give these people dignity; it doesn’t give them hope.”

According to the board’s leadership structure, there are seven executive members tasked with overseeing different areas of Gaza’s transition, including reconstruction, funding, and capital mobilization. Those members include Secretary of State Marco Rubio, U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, former U.K. Prime Minister Sir Tony Blair, Marc Rowan, Ajay Banga, and Robert Gabriel.

Member states listed as participating were Morocco, Argentina, Bahrain, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia. Many European countries are not on the list, and some have even rejected invitations to participate.

The BBC reports countries cited Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invitation as a reason for hesitating to join the board. France claimed the decision was that the board would undermine the United Nations framework. Shortly after, Trump made a comment that he would put a 200% tariff on his wines and champagnes, and then French President Emmanuel Macron would join.

“We have taken note of Mr. Trump’s statements on wines and champagnes,” responded a French official. “As we have always emphasized, tariff threats to influence our foreign policy are unacceptable and ineffective.”

Critics call the board “a vanity project” that will not actually bring peace to Gaza.

The only way to bring peace to the ME is to ship out all the PLO and Hamas, then rebuild.

We have a lot of reconstruction to do right here at home. Our aging infrastructure is a mess and in dire need of attention. We hear more about re-building Ukraine and Gaza than we do about repairing, upgrading and modernizing our own antiquated and dilapidated systems. Just saying.

How about a debt reduction campaign where the rich and famous contribute. That’d be way more beneficial to the country.

President Trump is lining up 5 billion bucks to rebuild Gaza in an effort to bring peace to the region.

He is bringing in 15 Trillion dollars of foreign investment to the US re industrialize our country.

5 billion is rounding error on what Trump is bringing to the US

Just sayin’

If you pay attention, you would know that has been accomplished already.

The efforts being described are the result

The true solution to the Gaza problem is get rid of the Gazans vouentarily

Indonesia has a bunch of really nice islands to relocate the Gaza population and Indonesian troops are the bulk of the Gaza stabilization force

It will take forever to rebuild Gaza after what Hamas has done to it and the necessary work simply cannot be accomplished with 2 million Gazans in the area.

As soon as the process gets going, reality is going to set in real solutions are going to start to be implemented.

The real future of Gaza is as the terminal of a canal that connects the Red Sea to the Mediterranean to provide Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States with a direct route to ship oil and gas to Europe.

This concerns me, even frightens me, much more than all the other news going on in the world right now. We (the USA) should have no part in this, take no stand other than to stay away from these places and especially events concerning Jersulaem, Judea and Samaria.

The one way to enable normal civilized peace to come to the middle east is to eliminate the armed terrorist murder gangs and their enablers, supporters. And end the Fakestinian Occupation through President Trump’s plan to move them to an Indonesian island (Indo has over 17,000 islands...) where they can live and be very carefully monitored to make d### sure that they can’t ever again attack, terrorist, murder, or slaughter any more innocent human beings anywhere on earth.
It actually could work, whereas dumping billions of dollars at the gaza district to enable the Fakestinian terrorists’ Occupation to drag on... is a sure prescription for more violence.

“...$5 billion toward the Gaza Humanitarian and Reconstruction efforts...”

That’s a start to the $1 TRILLION it’s going to take to rebuild that hellhole. It’s a huge mistake to spend a dime on it as long as there’s a muslim(SPIT!) in the country.

I’m neither conservative nor an isolationist, and I suspect my view is at least broader than some,

President Trump should have learned a valuable lesson from January 28th, 2020 when the White House published its PDF on the official .gov webpage showing his plans for a divided Israel complete with detailed maps. This was also the very same day that vile evil wretch Dr Anthony Fauci arrived at the White House to discuss covid-19 responses for the first time. This was THE day many bad things began happening for all of us.

So my fear is to perish the thought if our leader should be thought of as some sort of ‘king’ or even a ‘no king’ in protest inside that cursed land that Joshua failed to secure as ordered to do so by God. Our best move is not to interact at all here. Gods Holy Word will be fulfilled one day, and we don’t need the USA to be the one to further along the circumstances by which the offense comes.

“Ashkelon shall see it and fear; Gaza also shall see it and be very sorrowful, and Ekron for her expectation shall be ashamed; and the king shall perish from Gaza, and Ashkelon shall not be inhabited.” - Zechariah 9:5

“And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” - Zechariah 12:3

“Morocco, Argentina, Bahrain, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Hungary, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Pakistan, Paraguay, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, and Mongolia.”

In other articles INDONESIA is named as the most committed and involved. it is omitted here.

The uneven, incomplete and often contradictory narratives leaves many skeptical. What is the truth? What is the complete story?

*************

Hard to get the full benefits of industrializing when its done on top of an aging and dilapidated infrastructure. You need a strong foundation of fixed installations and related support system in order to function efficiently. Why build something new that rests upon something that’s old and fragile?

And my point stands: Why do we more about re-building Ukraine and Gaza than we do about fixing our own infrastructure? Wasn’t America supposed to be the first and highest priority?

Trump needs to quit bragging about possible outcomes and concentrate on actual outcomes. A REALLY good plan needs no bragging ahead of time, the results will speak for themselves. That is yet to be seen in the case of Gaza.

The Marshall Plan, officially known as the Economic Cooperation Act of 1948, was a pivotal American initiative that provided over $13 billion (equivalent to approximately $180 billion today) in economic assistance to Western European countries from 1948 to 1951.
