A woman was seen trying to set fire to a South Kansas City warehouse on Thursday, the same site that had been proposed as a possible immigration detention center.
Video from our crew shows the woman igniting window areas at the building and flames briefly flaring up.
KMBC reporter Andy Alcock said he witnessed the woman throw what appeared to be a liquid onto the windows before the fire started.
Grandview firefighters responded and put out the flames.
No injuries were reported.
The warehouse has been the focus of protests and public concern after reports surfaced that it could be sold to the federal government for use as an ICE detention facility.
The property’s owner, Platform Ventures, said Thursday it is no longer moving forward with any sale of the site to the U.S. government.

A typical news report. So many obvious questions unanswered.
The reporter just happened to be on the scene when the arson was committed. Someone was obviously filming the activity with a high resolution camera. The woman was behaving in a deliberate and not rushed manner in broad daylight while she was using what appears to be charcoal lighter fluid to ignite and sustain the flames. Clearly she was unconcerned about being filmed committing a serious crime or law enforcement arriving on the scene. The person filming the event seemingly made no effort to capture her face on film or follower her to determine her identity.
1) Was this a completely preplanned and staged event with all participants playing scripted roles?
2). If not, how did the reporter happen to be on the scene at the time with what appears to have been a professional quality camera?
3). Did the reporter do the filming or was a camera operator from the station with him?
4). What efforts did the reporter make to speak to the woman, determine her identity, follow her after the event, and determine if she had accomplices nearby?
5). Were there other people on the scene witnessing the event? If so, who are they? Did the reporter speak to these witnesses?
6). Did the reporter make any effort to call the police during or after the event?
7) How would the woman have known the building was being purchased by the federal government for ICE?
8). Was the building insured or over insured?
9). Why did the owner withdraw the building from sale to the government so quickly after the event?
10). Is the FBI involved in the investigation or is it being handled by local authorities who may be anti ICE?
11). Were there security cameras on the building or in the area that can help identify the arsonist?
12). Was AI used to create or modify the film?
13). Is this crime the act of an individual or is it the product of an organization?
14). If a planned activity, when and where will the next one occur?
She should see hard time for that, anyway!

There are high-res cameras everywhere these days. The first thing cops do anymore when investigating crimes is canvas local businesses and homes looking for possible camera footage.

As i understand it, the sale fell through before this arson attack. So, it wasnt being used or going to be used as an ICE facility. The building was standing empty at the time the video was taken.
Willing to go to prison for...nothing
Woman a believer there are no rules finds out it’s not true.
These terrorists need to be dealt with as such. Until they face real, painful, and even deadly consequences they will keep getting bolder.
