Key Points Senate Majority Leader John Thune, R-S.D., on Tuesday said he supported the SAVE America Act, but that there is not enough support in the Senate to change the filibuster and clear a path for the controversial bill. .The House is expected to vote this week on the legislation, which would require people to prove their citizenship to register to vote and show ID at the ballot box. .GOP hardliners have called for a return to the “standing filibuster,” which requires Congress members to be physically present and talking on the Senate floor to delay legislation.

he should at least call out the Rinos to show who’s not siding with 70% popularity for voter ID.

If Congress can’t pass a bill that has massive across the board support from both ends of the political divide than they might as well just give up and close the place down now.

He wants something. Like any politician, his support has a price. I wonder what it could be? I really have no idea.

Thune knows he will be minority leader in 11 months and wants to keep the filibuster to use.

“Thune knows he will be minority leader in 11 months and wants to keep the filibuster to use.”

If the democrats regain power, the filibuster will be gone in one day. They have already tried to do it and the two democrats who stopped it are no longer in office.

Thune is either a fool or is corrupt, and possibly both.

The Senate is a snake pit.

I get the impression there will not even be a vote taken to see if there should be a vote taken.

Thune said it is not even close.

I’d like specifics, like names named.

It is bad enough that the snake pit can kill this bill.

But it should be TREASON if they can kill the bill without EVERY senator going on the record confirming their position not to vote on it.

They want to remain hidden behind the filibuster to avoid doing the peoples’ will. That way they can openly support a bill while just pointing at the filibuster for why it isn’t passed.

They need 52 because Fetterman will vote no if they only have 51 Senators and then since it's 50-50, JD will vote "no" to break the tie.
