Good way to celebrate my 72nd birthday.
May 17, 1954 had two nation changing events. One was the SCOTUS ruling in Brown v Board of Education. The other was me.
The Colored schools like Storer College in Harpers Ferry immediately lost all funding and donations, the teachers unemployed, and the students had to leave friendships....for all the good it did do.
All their prestige and hard work pulled out from under them.
Interesting that Thurgood Marshall, arguing that black kids preferred the white dolls was disengenuine, as black folk tend to prefer the lighter skinned among them to this day. Just let them know, when abortion came around to scotus, the lie of 5000 women dying in back alley abortions would be swallowed and winked at by the justices to excuse the subsequent genocide.
Happy Birthday. Good on your parents.
Black babies pick white dolls for precisely the same reason they would pick a white cloth over a black one. It has to do with optical perception white catches the brains attention faster then black. It’s why you wouldn’t wear white to be stealthy. They would pick a mirror first too over a black baby or any black object.
Amazing how bad the social science is that makes this claim!!
Chris Plante is great on his radio show / podcast. I didn’t like his panel show on cable TV though.
Marking.
