Recent figures from the Central Bank of Iran highlight the scale of the problem. In the Iranian year 1403 (2024/25), the average annual gross expenditure of an urban household reached about 4.69 billion rials, or roughly 391 million rials per month, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly 38%. Of this amount, close to 30% was spent on food and beverages alone. For an average household of 3.2 people, monthly food expenses exceeded 116 million rials.

bad link, plus it’s an Iranian production. Google the name. The link will not be fixed.
RE: monthly food expenses exceeded 116 million rials.
That financial advice guy Dave Ramsey is a Trump supporter.
He has several times advocated all out plans for a person in credit card debt and other debt to forget about investing until they clear up the debt.
He says to eat only beans and rice for months while every dollar goes to debt retirement. 🫘🫘🍚🍚
Would work for Iranians and their rials.
Iran has quite the dilemma: They’ve screwed their water system and don’t have enough to go around. If they pull water from agriculture (the biggest user) then their food prices will go up some more.
