A notable number of Republican lawmakers broke sharply with the White House on Friday after President Trump posted — and later deleted — a video on social media that included a clip of former President Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama depicted as apes.
Republicans have generally been careful about voicing criticisms of Trump, and Friday’s episode began with a more typical partisan line, with Democrats quick to condemn the video as racist.
But then Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.) — a close Trump ally and the only Black Republican in the Senate — soon joined them, paving the way for others in his party to publicly disavow the post.
“Praying it was fake because it’s the most racist thing I’ve seen out of this White House,” Scott said early Friday, addressing the video in a post on the social platform X.
“The President should remove it,” the senator added.
Rep. Mike Lawler (N.Y.) — one of only three House Republicans whose districts voted for former Vice President Kamala Harris in 2024 — called the video “wrong” and urged Trump to remove it.

No, Trump did not post a video of the Obama’s as apes. Trump posted a screen recording of a video on election fraud and when it ended the feed scrolled to the next video which auto played for a split second which was a video of politicians heads on different animals singing “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” The video features the Obama’s and Biden as apes, Hillary as a warthog, Hakeem Jeffries as a meercat, Schumer as a giraffe, AOC as a donkey, etc. Trump’s team must’ve failed to review and trim it out. Once he realized what had happened, Trump deleted the post. That’s the context of everyone screaming “racism” today.

Trump was punked by those who posted the video. At the beginning the video was just good humor sans the dancing monkeys. Since Trump has no time to watch a long videos to the end, he did not see the racist part.

The video is pretty immature but it’s just people Trump doesn’t like as jungle animals , I wouldn’t automatically jump to the conclusion that it was racist though I can see how people might think it once they complained. Republicans do love patting themselves on their back about how non racist they are will take any opportunity to tell the world how much they love minorities and support White Genocide

Why is Paul against the Save act?
Why is he against ANY intervention? Why have a military around the world if you don’t use it against our enemies, and why doesn’t he consider Maduro a criminal, who has openly tried to harm us?
