Turning Point USA‘s “The All-American Halftime Show,” the event revealed by the right-wing political organization created by the late Charlie Kirk in the wake of Bad Bunny’s being selected to headline the Super Bowl Halftime Show, revealed its lineup Tuesday.
Kid Rock, Brantley Gilbert, Gabby Barrett and Lee Brice have been announced as performers for the event, which is being billed on the TPUSA website as celebrating “faith, family & freedom.”
The musical performances will air or stream live on conservative news platforms including Daily Wire+, Real America’s Voice, Trinity Broadcasting Network, TDN (a sister network to The Epoch Times), and Sinclair Media’s The National News Desk and Charge! digital channels. It is also scheduled to stream on TPUSA’s social media channels.
The show was announced back in October, a week after the NFL announced Bad Bunny as its halftime performer. The pick created backlash in right-wing and MAGA circles as Bad Bunny has been critical of the Donald Trump administration in the past (he refused to perform in mainland U.S. during his just-wrapped tour to protest ICE), and because he sings almost exclusively in Spanish.
One right-wing commentator, Tomi Lahren, said Bad Bunny was “not an American artist,” though he is from Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory. House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has called the pick a “terrible decision.”
“In my view, you would have Lee Greenwood or role models doing that, not somebody like this,” he told reporters.
It is unclear what venue will host the event or what it might look like; details overall have been scant since the original October announcement, with the media networks carrying it only appearing on the official site within the past week.

I appreciate someone going through the trouble to quickly put an alternate show together, but Kid Rock again? Seems like he’s always available. Do many Gen Xers know of him?

NFL made the decision (maybe due to BLM) to outsource the halftime show to a minority contractor. As a result we have - shocker - black singers every year. Hope NFL is happy with the diminished halftime audience as I see nobody watching the show anymore. Maybe time for the puppy bowl.

I’ll bet if someone thought to ask young Barron Trump, he would know of several worthy performers (under age 45) who could fill that bill even on short notice. Or, ask Don Jr’s daughter Kai about it. Who does she listen to?
I’m not ageist against my own age group. I just want us to enlarge our available bench of pro level musicians, who are at least professional enough not to trash the country during their performance. I know they are out there.
I have always liked Bjork, even after she attended that awards ceremony with the Dead Swan design draped around her neck. She’s deeply talented. I have learned to just ignore her social remarks, when she tries to sound ‘enlightened’ and stuff. Even the gifted need approval from their peer groups from time to time.

Maybe Badbunny is an American as he claims. I do know that none of the illegals in this country are.
Bad Bunny, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is a U.S. citizen because Puerto Rico is a U.S. commonwealth. As a Puerto Rican, he holds U.S. citizenship.
I imagine Bonito will hear the loud boos of nonacceptance when he mounts that halftime stage.
