GOP can’t go soft on immigration with midterms looming — it’s why voters picked Trump
New York Post ^ | Jan. 28, 2026 | Ben Domenech

Capitol Hill Republicans are nervously chattering amongst themselves about whether Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem could be the first member of President Donald Trump’s second-term Cabinet headed for the exit.

They’re looking in the wrong direction: They should be focused on whether they’re headed for the exits, too.

The big question facing Republicans in Washington and across the country isn’t who should run DHS, but how they can respond to the obvious questions about how Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Border Patrol agents are doing their jobs.

President Trump ought to put Erik Prince in charge of deportations. He has a lot of great ideas and has offered to do it on the cheap and without with clownshow spectacles that turns off voters.

Here's one simple solution (of many that Prince has proposed). Cut off their access to banking.

Erik Prince says the Trump administration should target illegal immigrants’ bank accounts. (X)

Rasmussen has Trump steady at 47% basically where he has been since the election.

Ignore all the BS headlines and other BS polls that showed Kamala winning, only look at Rasmussen.

Try watching Jesse Watters clips 1/28/26 of the Dems calling for Nuremberg Trials and death sentences for conservatives and ICE agents. And the nurses calling for injections and removal of IV for conservatives in their care.

We are their targets.

I need prayers to stay out of trouble.

I believe you are right because time and time again they refuse to act on opportunities.

Take the out of control ICE protests for example - WHY are they allowing democrats to control the narrative? All they have to do is either at a press conference, TV commercial, show the criminals ICE has arrested - pedophiles, rapists, murderers, gang members, kidnappers, sex traffickers, drug mules - then show their victims, a lot of them teens, then show these ICE protestors fighting ICE, they could make them look like the absolute scum that they are but they won’t do it!

Day after day, it’s the same crap with democrats calling ICE Nazis, Gestapo, they are controlling the narrative and Republicans are allowing them to do so EXACTLY like they did during Trumps first term. Three years of that RUssia collusion bullcrap EVEN WHEN Repubs had the White house and both houses. Republican party SUCKS!

GOP is stupid. Always has been.

Republican voters are not outraged with the shootings. They support deportation of all illegals and they knew it would be messy.

However, Republican politicians are weak and they will cower in the face of all the manufactured outrage.

That’s why they will lose decisively in November.

and without with clownshow spectacles that turns off voters.

The thing is that the Left is paying agitators to cause problems wherever they show up.

After Nick Shirley revealed the Daycare Center Fraud by the Somali community in Minneapolis, they called all agitators to show up in Minneapolis. It was an existential threat to them.

Most historians agree that the beginning of the end for King Charles the 1st of England was when he allowed his Lord Lieutenant, the Right Honorable 1st Earl of Strafford to be executed in 1641.
The leaders of Parliament were demanding a ‘scalp’, someone to execute for the King’s policies they hated, and King Charles reluctantly signed the Death Warrant for Sir Thomas Wentworth, Earl of Strafford, who had staunchly defended the King.

It was a GIGANTIC MISTAKE, and ultimately led to the King’s own execution 8 years later.

The moral of the story is NEVER GIVE A HOWLING MOB THE SACRIFICE THEY DEMAND.

The answer is to crush the howling mob, and in the words of General Tecumseh Sherman, to crush them so hard …”that it will be generations before they appeal to violence again…”.

Learn from history and continue the ICE operations, the midterms will take care of themselves.

Start arresting elected democrats who have obviously broken the law, and don’t shrink from doing your sworn duty to the people who gave you the power to execute it.

The only way to stop illegal immigration is to change the laws to stop incentivizing it. As long as our laws reward it, it will keep happening.

Should have done that last winter, when Prince pitched it.

Unfortunately, mass deportations weren’t what Trump was looking for—despite his having campaigned on them.

The GOP doesn’t stand for anything.

They want nothing fixed.

Prove me wrong.

The GOP needs to double down because they’re in the right and the Democrats have a 6th sense for the presence of GOP weakness. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile.

The GOPe will get their wish in 279 days. Said another way the cowards have 279 days to do nothing, and then do nothing as a minority after that. Except spend other people’s money of course and run up the debt over $40 trillion.

“and run up the debt over $40 trillion.”

Do you know what it was 15 years ago when prince stompy-foot took over the White House?

I you think they can’t triple it in no time you give the US over to a foreign despotic entity you would be incorrect
