Washington Post reporters implore Bezos to #SaveThePost ahead of expected layoffs

A growing number of journalists and supporters of the Washington Post are imploring Jeff Bezos, the outlet’s billionaire owner, to stop massive layoffs that are expected to hit the news organization next month.

The Post, according to multiple reports, is planning to dramatically reduce the size of its staff in the coming weeks and is reportedly considering making the steepest cutbacks to its foreign desk and sports department.

News of the outlet’s plans have roiled staffers and sparked many of them to take to social media to criticize the newspaper’s publisher and CEO Will Lewis, who was hired by Bezos before the 2024 election to help the newspaper’s struggling business.

The crybabies at the Post are going to ask Tom Hanks and Myrel Streep to meet with Bezos to save their jobs. Hanks and Streep played Ben Bradlee (editor) and Kathryn Graham (owner) of the Post (back in the 70s) in the 2017 movie of the same name.
