Danish Pension Fund Decides to Sell US Treasury Bonds

AkademikerPension holds US bonds worth about $100 mln

BERLIN, January 20. /TASS/. AkademikerPension, a Danish pension fund, made the decision to sell US Treasury Bonds amid the conflict around Greenland, DPA news agency said, citing the fund.

AkademikerPension holds US bonds worth about $100 mln. The reason for sale is indicated as the strained financial situation of the US administration and there is allegedly no direct link between the conflict around Greenland and the decision to get rid of bonds.

Greenland is now part of Denmark with rights of the autonomous territory. The US President repeatedly said that it should become part of the United States.

As if their purchase of US treasury bonds was a charitable act.

Content of the drops-— piss. They should maybe invest their pension in what... German bitcoin, or AfD future Nazis of Deutschland? Ironic this is so far from the history of Shakespear's Hamlet (monarchic soap opera replaced by Euroweenie Socialism). We should look at how screwed up immigration is in Denmark (the muzzie problems for example).

OK with me if Denmark sells $100 million US bonds.

Denmark can use the proceeds to import more 3rd world illegals into their country and pay for their housing and other living costs.

Since Europe is hell bent on cultural suicide, get it over quickly.

In the scheme of things, $100 mn is a rounding error.

An autonomous territory can sell itself to the highest bidder.

57,000 people governed by the strategic decisionmaking of the equivalent of a city council and mayor.

Trumps national security team is aware of the overtures being made by China to embed itself into Greenland for strategic positioning, comm networks, airfields, ports, research sites, and access to resources, Atlantic and polar region sea lanes, airspace over North Atlantic and Arctic.

Look at what they did and were trying to do in Panama to control the Canal until Trump and Rubio interrupted them and pulled the Panamanian govt back into respecting our treaty.

Why are so many “ leaders” so stupid about this?
For the security of North America …this cannot be allowed to occur.

100 million? Chump change along the same lines as the fearsome Danish military. A Somalian Learing Day Care Center can steal that amount overnight

If you are a foreign institutional investor and you purchased $100 million worth of U.S. Treasury bonds on January 1st of 2025, your investment yielded about 4.5% interest while it lost about 11% of its value during the year.

“Fiduciary responsibility” for many of these foreign investors would require them to stay the hell away from U.S. government debt.

Which is why they ladder so they hold to maturity and market value changes are inconsequential.

The market value changes reflect changes in the underlying value of the currency in which the government bond is issued.

So, yes — it’s technically true that the $100M worth of 10-year bonds you purchased in 2025 will still pay you the same 4.5% every year, and will still be worth $100 million in 2035. But the 4.5% you get in Year 6 won’t be worth the same as the 4.5% you get in Year 1 … and the $100M will likely be worth far less in 2035 than it was in 2025.

—”Drop in the bucket”

As the US prints more money and the dollar sinks the Euros and others will ease out of the US bond market...

The dollar is no longer the reserve currency and the US becomes a third-rate nation, behind the Euros...

The dollar was once linked to gold, and the British pound was the reserve currency, until it was no longer.
