Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., isn’t up for re-election until 2028, but that isn’t stopping his onetime progressive allies from accelerating their effort to challenge him in a primary.
On Friday, the Working Families Party launched a new website, PrimaryFetterman.com, that will serve as a hub for its effort to unseat the senator. It features pages dedicated to opposition research on him, volunteer recruitment and even a link to request donation refunds from his campaign — which the party said it will promote via digital ads.
The new website comes after the progressive group, which supported Fetterman’s 2022 run for Senate, launched its initiative to unseat him in November. That effort, the Working Families Party said, generated more than 425 sign-ups from potential candidates who want to run against him, volunteers who want to work on an effort to unseat him or donors who are interested in funding a primary campaign against him.
As Fetterman has made overtures to the right and broken with many in his party on the recent government shutdown and major foreign policy issues, he has seen longtime staff and supporters abandon him — even as he largely still votes with his party. A number of Pennsylvania Democrats across the ideological spectrum are believed to be interested in taking on Fetterman in 2028.

Good. (I’m betting it fails.)
Democrats work hard at being hateful and intolerant of individuality and diversity of thought.
The big surprise is he is a better “conservative” than Dr Oz.
He represents me. I was not happy when he was elected, but by God, I think he’s done more to advance my POV than Oz would have, (whom I voted for). Fedderman should switch to independent, I think every Western Pennsylvanian with a conscience would vote for him.
With what we know now, I bet you that most FReepers would have voted for Fetterman over Dr Oz.
2028. This isn’t fake news but it’s pretty close.

Pennsylvania Ping!
Please ping me with articles of interest.
FReepmail me to be added to the list.
It depends a lot on his 2028 Republican opponent, of course. But I think Fetterman would probably win the general election.
But the Democrat primary will come first. I have my doubts about that.
He has never voted against the party when it would have made a difference. Not a single time.
“””He has never voted against the party when it would have made a difference. Not a single time.”””
Zackly. The mental case talks a lot about agreeing with Trump but then mindlessly votes right along with his own party.
I hate that damn word “progressive.”
Call them what they really are....communists, marxists, maoists, etc.
“He has never voted against the party when it would have made a difference. Not a single time.”
I see. Which bills would not have passed without his vote?
Fetterman is the best the Left has and they hate him and are trying to destroy him.
John Fetterman has come up being one of the more sensible Democrats of recent & now his party seeks to beat him out in the primaries. What’s wrong with those idiots? The article states that he still largely votes with the Democrats.
I never looked that up, but I’ll take your word for it. Now here’s the thing. The entire Democrat Party is tripping over themselves to tell us how good the Muslim terrorists are, and how bad Israel is.
The sole exception to that is John Fetterman. The guy has moxie. I’ll give him that.
Maybe he’ll be a Republican by then.
Fetterman is a thinking Progressive. So lock-step Progressives hate him!
Phooey!
The current DNC chair Ken Martin is from Minnesota. I doubt his appointment was coincidence.
Why not become a Republican?
