Anti-Defamation League CEO Jonathan Greenblatt has revealed he is working behind the scenes with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx) and others to take down “revolting lunatics” like Tucker Carlson and Nick Fuentes.
“I think the only way we are going to defeat the rise in antisemitism on the right is from the right,” Greenblatt said during a panel interview at a Los Angeles synagogue on Wednesday.
“Nick Fuentes is disgusting, Tucker Carlson is disgusting, Candace Owens is disgusting, and so on, but there have been good people like Ted Cruz and Ben Shapiro and Mark Levin [and] Speaker [Mike] Johnson pushing back on these revolting lunatics.”
Greenblatt went on to say he was helping the lawmakers and conservative personalities “behind the scenes” in a bid to get social media platforms to crack down on antisemitism and hate-filled speech.
“We definitely are working a lot to try to get the platforms to kind of enforce their own terms of service so that we can pull down the most offensive hate speech or get them to do it,” he said.
“What I try to do at ADL, what we try to do is provide data, is to provide tools, is to step up often quietly behind the scenes.”
Last month, Carlson was named “Antisemite of the Year” by StopAntisemitism, a prominent Jewish civil rights group, for offering platforms to Jew-haters and -bashers on his show.

On free speech, Israel and the ADL are no better than Britain or the EU.
Coming from the ADL, it doesn’t carry a lot credibility because of their hard left politics.
Yeah - we’ve got this thing called the First Amendment here, Greenblatt, and I take great offense and see it as a threat that you’re trying to forcibly cancel people for their speech you don’t like.
If they demand the killing or deporting of Jews that’s one thing but they’re not saying that. That’s what the left is doing and I’m curious why you don’t have a problem with THAT.

I’m not anti-semite, on most things I agree with Bebe, but he should neb out of US politics. We should neb out of Israel’s politics. There is no difference between Netanyahu lobbying the US government and Putin lobbying the US government. The penalty should be the same for anyone involved in either.
Fuentes, Carlson and Owens are doing a good enough job of taking themselves down. They don’t need any extra help.

People who favor censorship—no matter who they are—do so because they have secrets they want to hide.
Our job is to find out every last one of those secrets.

Censorship is never the answer but just because you are a pundit does not mean you have a right to followers. If people think you’re full of $#!+ and don’t listen, then I’d say you deserve what you get.
Carlson and Owens have crossed into that territory.

I don’t have much use for either Carlson or Fuentes, but I’ll take the first amendment over having the Anti-Defamation League dictate what is or isn’t acceptable speech any day. The fact that Ted Cruz is allying himself with the ADL to censor free speech says that his “Constitutionalist” political platform is a sham.
