The chamber has 134 seats. Current partisan breakdown:

Minnesota state senate is Democrat controlled.
That's fine. The state house gets discovery and subpoenas, and all the sordid details will be examined in a public trial.
For the witnesses, lying to the press and public is okay, but lying in a trial is serious. Most attorneys advise against it.

I don't think Walz will be tried in the state senate. He'll resign instead.
