President Trump threatened to "take very strong action" if Iranian authorities begin hanging anti-government protesters this week.
"We will take very strong action. If they do such a thing, we will take very strong action," Mr. Trump told "CBS Evening News" anchor Tony Dokoupil during an exclusive network interview in Dearborn, Michigan, airing Tuesday night.
Mr. Trump said he's aware a "pretty substantial number" of people have been killed over the more than two weeks of demonstrations. Sources tell CBS News at least 12,000 — and possibly upwards of 20,000 — are now feared dead, as videos show body bags lined up at a morgue in Tehran.
In a social media post Tuesday, Mr. Trump warned Iranian officials will "pay a big price" for any violence and promised Iranian citizens that "HELP IS ON ITS WAY." He said he would cancel all meetings with Iranian officials until the killings stopped.

Let them do it. Let their own people see it and react accordingly.

No one has full internet or cell phone service but the reports are possibly 2,000 dissidents have been killed for protesting.
The gruesome feeling about thinking of someone being hanged does not really make it worse than 2,000 people dying by shootings and other methods. It is psychological, like being outraged by a dog or cat being tortured but not looking up from a video game if someone comes in and says 1.1 million pre-born babies were killed by abortionists in the US in 2024.
Psychological.

Iran isn’t Venezuela. This will take time. In the meantime hundreds of thousands of Persians are doing the necessary work. They’ve let it be known that they are willing to die. That in itself is a death sentence for the mullahs.

The part about possibly 12,000 to 20,000 dead? I can’t be sure which figure is accurate, including the old 2,000 I cited.
Part about his liking to defend the dissidents and win? Can’t argue with that.
