The justices heard more than three hours of arguments in appeals by Idaho and West Virginia of decisions by lower courts siding with transgender students who challenged the bans in the two states as violating the U.S. Constitution and a federal anti-discrimination law. Twenty-five other states have similar laws on the books.
The Supreme Court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, backed other restrictions on transgender people in rulings issued last year. Republican President Donald Trump's administration defended the laws during the arguments.
Conservative justices raised concerns about imposing a uniform rule on the entire country amid sharp disagreement and uncertainty over whether medications like puberty blockers or gender-affirming hormones eliminate male physiological advantages in sports. Questions by the liberal justices mostly signaled sympathy for the transgender challengers.
Sports are "kind of a zero-sum game for a lot of teams," conservative Justice Brett Kavanaugh told Joshua Block, a lawyer for the transgender challengers. "And someone who tries out and makes it, who is a transgender girl, will bump someone from the starting lineup, from playing time, from the team, from the all-league (honors), and those things matter to people, big time."
Kavanaugh, who has coached girls' basketball teams, suggested that because the 1972 Title IX civil rights law that bars sex discrimination in schools, and its related regulations, permit teams separated by biological sex, it should be up to Congress to change that.
The Idaho and West Virginia laws designate sports teams at public schools including universities according to "biological sex" and bar "students of the male sex" from female athletic teams. The states said the laws preserve fair and safe competition for women and girls.

This shouldn’t even be a difficult question — even for “Justice” Jackson. Title IX exists strictly because of BIOLOGICAL distinctions and it has nothing whatsoever to do with anyone’s feelings about who they might or might not be.
It specifically carves out playing fields for women. Any other reading to blur that thick line would have the effect of eliminating women’s sports ... the very reason Title IX was created in the first place.

Why is this even a question in the first place?
Really, this case is a slam dunk.
The case I would like to see is a lawsuit against the handful of states (including California) that REQUIRE schools to permit boys to play in girls sports. That is what needs to be overturned by SCOTUS.
My daughter plays high school soccer. Last summer she played a team with a trans boy that was obviously bigger and faster than all the other players. We still kicked their ***

This should be the EASIEST decision the Supreme Court EVER made..man cannot become women and women cannot become men..geez what is so hard to figure out..and NO, men should NEVER be allowed in women’s sports..they only want to do it so they can say “See Im a woman now I can kick their asses easily and win trophies”
If this does not end all women’s sports will contain nothing but transgenders so actual women will no longer be able to participate in a sport.

Boys and Girls like oil and water can’t mix in sports
Has anyone noticed this is almost (but not exclusively) BOYS wanting to be in GIRLS bathrooms and locker rooms? Because they are post-pubescent and have fully functional BOY parts and like most boys the get aroused by seeing naked girls. Playing “trans” is just an easy way to get their jollies.
Prove me wrong.
I’ll be the number of times we’ve heard about “girls in boys sports” is a small fraction of the cases. And I’ll bet most of them are being pushed to become a boy by screwed-up liberal mothers.
