KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A 35-year-old Chinese national was charged this week with taking pictures of B-2 bombers and other “vital military installations” at Whiteman Air Force Base (AFB) back in December, according to federal court documents.
According to court documents, Wu admitted to investigators that he had taken videos of the B-2 bomber, as well as Whiteman’s perimeter fencing, gate and military equipment. He then showed investigators his phone and the photos he had taken.
Further in the court documents, Wu is described as a Chinese national who illegally entered the country on June 22, 2023, near Nogales, Arizona.
It alleges that he was arrested by immigration authorities, but due to a lack of space in detention facilities, Wu was released “on his own recognizance.” He had a scheduled immigration removal proceeding on Feb. 9, 2027.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Trey Alford and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Brandon Chlarson with assistance from Trial Attorney Brendan P. Geary of the National Security Division’s Counterintelligence and Export Control Section.
The case was also investigated by the AFOSI, the FBI, the U.S. Air Force’s Security Forces and ICE.

Relax its just a first amendment auditor
I gotta tell ya, if one was taking off at the local base I would be videoing it as well.
Those things are pretty cool looking.
Odd story. Because it’s generally accepted that you can take pictures of anything you can see from a public space, like from the side of a public road. It’s a freedom of the press thing.
Exactly where was this guy when he took those pictures?
Anyway, the real outrage here is that his scheduled immigration removal proceeding isn’t until Feb. 9, 2027. What’s the deal with that?
Why not use Google?
“I gotta tell ya, if one was taking off at the local base I would be videoing it as well.”
Not if you were in an are posted forbidding taking photographs or videos of military assets.
Yeah. But anything with “Chinese National” is a red flag. They can do whatever they want as long as it’s not in the United States. And our bringing in 600,000 of them is definitely ... ill advised.
Correct. He should be deported immediately.
An even bigger outrage is that 600,000 Chinese spies with student visas will be coming to the United States.
Caught illegally taking pictures and videos of a B-2. Warned. Released.
Returned to the viewing position.
Caught illegally taking pictures and videos of a B-2.
Had entered the country illegally in Texas in 2023.
Was released by Biden administration.
How many more like him are gathering intelligence on the ground in the USA?
Photographing infrastructure: power generation and distribution, communications networks, refineries, oil and gas production, bridges, dams, hospitals….?
Am I paranoid?
Not paranoid enough
It’s funny, I used to ride dirt bikes in the town next to the local AFB. There was one trail that took you up high enough to look over the entire flight line. With even a half assed camera you could sit there all day and watch what was going on in the hangars.
I was telling my Dad about it one day. I expressed concern that you could just sit there any spy on them. He laughed. Then he told me the next time we went up there to look at the old concrete footings—those used to be guard posts. Then he suggested I look for little utility posts every 30-50 yards. Those are electronic surveillance. It was explained to me that the base security knew we were up there, and if we had camped out for more than a few minutes we would have been “visited.”
My brothers and I never stopped there again. But it was cool watching B52s roll overhead.
That’s why most Americans have .308 Winchester rifles with scopes. “It looked like a deer to me, Warden.”
Any relation to the Boston Wus or WuHus?
I guess he’s a “Legal Observer”.
As if the Clintons didn’t sell them the full factory plans for them 25 years ago.
“How many more like him are gathering intelligence on the ground in the USA?”
Countless. Thousands and thousands are working building military systems. Obama and Biden gave them citizenship and they can now get security clearances.
Similar (ships, planes, & infrastructure) to the japs at Pearl Harbor throughout the 1930s...
No.
