Multiple videos captured the deadly encounter between a federal agent and Renee Good, raising questions about whether it was an authorized use of force.
Rob Doar, a defense attorney and head of the Gun Owners Law Center, reviewed the videos with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. He emphasized that the use of force should be a last resort, used only in self-defense after all other options are exhausted.
“The first shot seems to be while the vehicle is advancing towards him,” said Doar. “The second and third shot that we see in the video comes from the side driver’s window. That becomes part of the analysis is he’s out of the zone of danger at that point, and then is it reasonable for him to continue firing being outside of the zone of danger?”
Doar said the analysis will focus on whether the agent was in danger when firing the second and third shots. The mindset of the officer at the moment is crucial, as it determines the lawfulness of the force used.

Given this observation by a pro-2A guy, does it sound like the ICE agent has anything to worry about?

This is stupid. The guy was in mortal danger and squeezed off three shots in rapid succession in a fraction of a second, as he was taught to do.

I love arm-chair QB’s on an incident that was less than a blink of an eye in real time (second or two). At that point you are in muscle memory and survival mode. Who’s to say she wouldn’t have stopped and backed up to finish the job.

I admit, i didn’t go read all of it. But the vehicle was still moving. So the threat really hadn’t been eliminated. Most people will agree that defensive action should be continued until the threat is eliminated. So, IMHO he should have dumped an entire magazine, unless he was worried about hitting other people....
In a life and death situation you fire till the threat is neutralized
Should we consider that what appeared to be a driver in a rage could well have hit other people and the best way to prevent that possibility was to use any and all ways to stop her.

The suspect blocked law enforcement vehicles, the suspect was ordered out of the vehicle, the suspect then attempted to run over a ICE agent.
People who try to kill cops and others cannot be allowed to leave the scene, as they will be a danger to everyone, not just cops.

My sidearm training in the Air Force was to fire three rounds.
Yeah I wasn’t crazy about the 2nd and 3rd shots either.
But I was not there, and I was not the one being run over by a dirty leftist. Also to note is that the agent was not, at first, in the path of the car. The driver backed up her car... aimed it at the agent... made eye contact... and then deliberately stomped the gas so hard that the airbag deployed when she wrecked into the back of another vehicle after she was dead.
Actually it will be interesting to know when the airbag deployed. If the airbag deployed because she hit the ice officer or because she hit the car.
The ‘wife’ was too busy filming and shouting that the agent was a criminal to care that her partner had been killed.
