MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - JANUARY 07: Police tape surrounds a vehicle suspected to be involved in a shooting by an ICE agent during federal law enforcement operations on January 07, 2026 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. According to federal officials, the agent, “fearing for his life” killed a woman during a confrontation in south Minneapolis. (Photo by Stephen Maturen/Getty Images)
WASHINGTON (TNND) — The ICE agent who fatally shot a Minnesota woman in her car Wednesday was previously injured after an illegal immigrant rammed his car into him and dragged the agent 50 yards across the road last summer, according to Vice President J.D. Vance.
In June, illegal immigrant and convicted child sex offender Roberto Carlos, attempted to flee federal officers during a traffic stop in Bloomington, Minnesota. Carlos struck the ICE agent and dragged him 300 feet. The ICE agent suffered significant cuts and received more than 30 stitches.
The agent targeted in the summer incident fatally shot Renee Good on Wednesday. His identity has not been disclosed.
Carlos was convicted by a jury in December of assault on a federal officer with a dangerous and deadly weapon which caused bodily injury.
During a Wednesday press conference in the wake of Good's death, Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem alluded to the fact that the ICE officer who killed Good was previously injured by a vehicle in June 2025.
"The very same officer who was attacked today had previously been dragged by an anti-ICE rioter who had rammed him with a car and drugged him back in June,” Noem said. “He sustained injuries at that time as well."
Various videos taken of the encounter between Renee Good, the mother-of-three fatally shot, and the ICE agents, show Good’s Red Honda Pilot obstructing the middle of the road; meanwhile Good’s wife was shown...

Once bitten, twice shy.
RE: earlier injury with 30 stitches was while chasing a sex offender
Seems the agent never took the time to just sit down and talk with him. Or hand him an acoustical guitar to have him sing “Down in the Valley.” Or “Try A Little Tenderness.”
On the Mitch Albom radio show the liberal host and his black aide were beside themselves with anger over such things as “just because he had been dragged once from having his arm in a car chasing a criminal once doesn’t give him the right to decide to shoot someone now. We don’t have to adapt to what’s in his mind for his decision.”
They claim they saw the whole thing due to social media cell phone videos and the agent is guilty.
Albom should stick to his gushy books about how he can make money on imagining the things you’ll learn in heaven.
Bless his heart. I would be spooked, too!
Prayers for him, protection, and his family.
LEO or not-—NEVER lean in or reach in to a running vehicle with a conscious person in the driver’s seat!
Thankful he survived what could have been a fatal mistake.
Per DHS there has been a 1,300% increase in assaults on ICE officers and an 8,000% increase in death threats.
They all have good reason to be on high alert with the people they are apprehending and the people who have been stalking and harassing them.
In looking at the windshield, it is clear the shot came from the side. Although the agent had pulled his gun in legitimate fear, it looks to me like the imminent threat to his life had already passed when he fired. Yes, we are talking about judgment under duress in fractions of a second. I can understand it given his history and the heat of the moment, but it still appears to me that the kill shots were unnecessary as self defense. At that point, it looks like she was trying to flee more than to use the car as a weapon. She may have done that, and then panicked, but I don’t think we’ll ever know for certain.
This woman had been following them and blocking them and screaming obscenities at them all day long. And when she accelerated towards one officer if he had not stopped her she could have stopped and put her car in reverse again and accelerated backwards to try and hit more officers.
Given her prior actions, which include blocking them and defying their orders to get out of the car, that would have been a reasonable concern.

Her name is Renee Notgood. If you did it here in Florida, Ron DeSantis said you can drive over protesters.
Rene NotGood should not be there, she had a Terminal case of TDS... It was cured...
Maybe he was just firing a warning shot and she should have stopped. Jeeesh.
EC
Reasonable concern, yes. Deadly force? Yes, she's throwing her weight around. Yes, she's crazy. But does that mean she has deadly intent? I'm not there. Why not shoot out the tires?
I see this as a tragic combination of histories and mindsets. It suggests that after his prior incident he should have been put on other duties for quite a while. It's a tough call.
Kinda doubt it.
Maybe he was just firing a warning shot
As he was ran over?.
Take best result first second guess later.
Read this unanimous opinion and pay special attention to Kavanaugh’s concurrence (Joined by Thomas who is not exacly pro-LEO overreach unlike Alito). Answers all your inquiries and "what if's" Good kill, respect LEOs, don't resist arrest and become don't become narcissistic retard and suicide by LEOs.
I saw the video of him being dragged. He’s on the other side of the vehicle out of view but the car is flying along.
Sobering “Lessons Learned!” = “Never Again! “ if this report is backed up by outside review.
There was a thread on this the other day. Although the FR platform is ancient, it might be time to explore getting glasses or visiting the eye doc for new glasses if you cant read it on a smartphone. If I can't read FR in Smartphone landscape mode, it off to the eye doc..
