Two high-profile Democrats are calling for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer involved in a fatal Wednesday shooting in Minneapolis to be prosecuted.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called the shooting a “murder” and said ICE “has now turned into what our greatest fear is and has been for a long time … that this will be used as an anti-civilian force, that it has no accountability at the end of the day.”
“What we saw today is a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted,” she told reporters at the Capitol on Wednesday evening.
Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), a Silicon Valley representative, called for the officer to be arrested.

Prosecute Honda for allowing an assault vehicle on the streets.
Rub their noses in it by giving the officer an award for bravery and a promotion, just like the Democrats did for the guy that shot Ashli Babbitt. Have congress declare him a “Hero”.

Can an ICE officer be prosecuted? I thought they had a certain degree of immunity. If they can, I think a jury should decide this. Obviously, people are divided on whether it was justified homocide.

Knew that was coming. Question really is does the Minnesota AG Ellison or the county prosecutor have the disposition to try to indict and actually arrest this Federal agent. Doubt Trump or Noem will be amused. Ellison in particular is probably on the verge of being incted himself on corruption charges.

Plus, they already set the precedent when Lon Horuichi murdered that mother and her child that federal agents can not be prosecuted.

I believe they enjoy qualified immunity.
I also have heard that the DOJ can force a state prosecution to be instead tried, at the federal level. That would mean no blue state biased prosecution and trial, and the President could readily pardon if needed.

Is she protected from slander by the old cliche that public figures like movie stars can be insulted without it being legally slander?
