No peace until Russia is soundly defeated militarily and destroyed economically. The current Russia plans call for at least 7 more years of war or until they have achieved all of their stated goals.

Whatever. We’ve heard this a couple dozen times before. I’ll believe it when I see it.

We’ve been “on the cusp” of so many things, the phrase has no meaning. Until we get an AG who actually wants the job, that is.

It’s less risky for Russia to keep fighting and pivot economically to the east than to conclude an agreement with NATO whose literal mission statement is the destruction of Russia.

Removing Maduro will be as much of a falling domino and removing Gaddafi was.

This is delusion by the “Russia Strong” faction in DC who wants Russia to remain relevant for careerist income reasons.

Russia has decided a deal with Trump might hold for a week or two, and then he might change his mind. Also, there is a very decent chance he loses the house and has a democrat congress in one year. They know whatever deal they get from him is likely very temporary.
At that point the most hostile elements of DC will be right back in the drivers seat.
Then yesterday Trump was calling Putin a liar after first confirming his house was attacked by 90 Uke drones.
So was Trump incompetent when he said the Ukes attacked it, or being dishonest when he came out later and reversed himself? Either way, chaos or perfidity.. you aren’t signing a deal with an entity like that.
If they have given the store away and allowed a so called frozen conflict with a DMZ, a “coalition of the willing” to embed with the nazi army, a ton of rest and refit to happen, etc... they then have a permanent problem on their hands. And safe behind NATO-lite, the SBU can conduct assassinations, bombings, sabotage etc and claim innocence. And the Russians will not be able to respond.
No deal is coming, the Russians are going to correctly push on until the Dnieper or Uke collapse, whichever is first.

That’s my basic thinking as well. Add Odessa. NATO controls Z and they won’t let him actually make a deal. Fight to the last Ukrainian.

The current Russia plans call for at least 7 more years of war or until they have achieved all of their stated goals.
Russia no longer has the military nor the economy to support even one more year of war, much less 7 years. Plus, they're running out of men to send to the Ukraine meat-grinder.
What Russia is full of is propaganda and BS posturing. Russia is no longer the country that invaded Ukraine 4 years ago; not even close.

No matter what the mission, and no matter who might have wanted the destruction of Russia, the clear fact now is that, it's Putin that has started the complete destruction of Russia.

You're stuck or hung up on that neodymium argument of yours.
Every discussion, it seems that your only argument is about neodymium.
What did the world do before neodymium?
Also remember that the U.S. is developing its own neodymium industry. China will not be allowed to have control of that market by itself.

Russia is no longer capable of moving beyond whatever territory it controls now. So, they'll have to deal or eventually lose the war.
