Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that Florida has arrested more than 10,000 illegal immigrants since starting a state-wide crackdown last year.
DeSantis made the announcement during a Monday news conference, declaring that “Operation Tidal Wave” led to the removal of 10,400 illegal immigrants from Florida since April 2025.
“In April 2025, Florida partnered with federal law enforcement in the largest joint immigration enforcement operation in ICE’s history: Operation Tidal Wave,” DeSantis wrote on X.
“Today, I was proud to announce a new milestone in our joint efforts to combat illegal immigration and restore order in our communities: Florida law enforcement have arrested more than 10,400 illegal immigrants across the state,” he added.
DeSantis joined ICE Deputy Director Madison D. Sheahan and other officials in Tallahassee, Fla., in September to reveal the state would receive tens of millions of dollars in additional immigration enforcement funding.
The funding includes $28 million, with an additional $10 million directed to local law enforcement. The funds are part of $1.7 billion being distributed nationwide under President Trump’s “Big, Beautiful Bill,” Sheahan said.
According to ICE, $2.7 million of the funding will support transportation for local agencies, while $7.3 million will provide equipment for 974 local officers. At the state level, $1 million is allocated for transportation and $27.5 million for equipment benefiting 3,676 state officers.
The 287(g) initiative empowers state and local law enforcement officers to help perform immigration enforcement duties. Florida has “set the standard” nationwide for 287(g) partnerships with 325 agreements in place, according to ICE.

We’re doing the same in Oregon
There are still plenty more here, keep it up!
A good start.
What’s the status of Alligator Alcatraz?
Little Marco seems to be a strong candidate.
I like JD, but Little Marco has been amazing lately.
BTW, what a lineup, huh? Who do the rats have to compare?
JD and Little Marco have been rather recent converts to the Trump Train, which raises the question: would they change their stripes back once elected?
I like how Rubio is doing as SoS. But he is following Trump’s lead. On his own I think he goes back to his water dribbling Senate persona. Rubio may have more to contribute, but given a three way between JD, Marco, and Ron, I’ll take JD. I watched JD during the campaign and dealing with reporters before and after the election. He knows his place as VP but looks like he could step into a MAGA POTUS role seamlessly.
Be thankful, along with me. We have a whole stable of superb candidates for 2028. They include Rubio, Hegseth, Vance, Bondi, and the Noem. The best thing will be an open primary where we can choose the best of them.
As many as 1.3 million illegal aliens may have been deported in Eisenhower-era campaign which was designed to root out illegal alien Mexicans from America
With the help of the Mexican government, which sought the return of Mexican nationals to alleviate a labor shortage, Border Patrol agents and local officials used military techniques and engaged in a coordinated, tactical operation to remove the immigrants.
It’s not clear how many American citizens were swept up in Operation Wetback, but the United States later claimed that 1.3 million people total were deported. However, some historians dispute that claim.
Though hundreds of thousands of people were ensnared the number of deportees was drastically lower than the United States reported some historians claim that the total was more likely closer to 300,000.
Due to immigrants who were caught, deported, and captured again after illegally sneaking back into the U.S. it was impossible to accurately define the total number of people deported under the program.
“open primary”
Open primaries allow dems to cross over.
Lousy name, the Tidal Wave was the invasion.
This is the Swamp Draining.
I had some reservations about Trump when he decided to run in 2015 because of his past associations and given the recent GOP history of W, McCain and Mittens. I started supporting him during the primaries when he clearly was the best of the field. People can change. Two of our best Reagan and Trump were on the other side once. Converts can sometimes be our best. Could they flip back? Sure but let’s give them a fair shake if they decide to run.
“I like JD, but Little Marco has been amazing lately.”
I had been staunchly Vance for months. Since TP Amfest and Vance’s wishy-washy, why-can’t-we-all-get-along, non-condemning-anti-semitism speech I have moved into the Rubio camp. Strongly.
He has done an amazing job, and continues to do so.
Sweet! Republicans already have a 10,400 vote lead in the next election. Unless somebody else fills out their ballots for them.
It’s tragic that so much law enforcement resources have to be used to clean up Joe Biden’s mess.
But, at least it is getting cleaned up.
