This, in spades. In case you had not noticed, Brownsfan, elites, generally do not speak for the common people, and much more often speak and act 100% against the interests of the average person in the group to which they belong (usually by accident of birth - because they certainly don’t choose to belong to a group of people who whom they despise).
Condemn the elites, whether Jewish or not, as you see fit - they usually deserve it. But please don’t act as if the common people in there group are not affected badly by something that these elites promote out of naked self interest (and not a little bit of stupidity).

That bothers me too. Before the Holocaust, there was the Holodomor, which resulted in a similar number of government murders. Turkish murders of Armenians also preceded the Holocaust. Government murders in China followed the Holocaust. Muslims murdering infidels in Africa continues, but I have no sense of scale.
The murder and mistreatment of Jews in history is a sad tale. To Jews, it is unique. It’s no more unique than the other cases that I mentioned.
For what it’s worth, Walter Duranty was not Jewish. I have not delved into ownership and editors of the New York Times.
I think the case can be made that honest reporting on the Holodomor by Walter Duranty, the NYT and the rest of the follow along MSM, would have prevented the Holocaust from ever happening. Protecting Uncle Joe and communism emboldened another mass murderer, Hitler. Talk about your unintended consequences!
