President Donald Trump late Sunday predicted Cuba was "ready to fall" after U.S. forces captured Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro, warning that Havana can no longer rely on Caracas for security and oil.
Trump said Cuba’s fate is now directly tied to Maduro’s ouster and the collapse of Venezuela’s ability to bankroll allies in the region.
Asked if he was considering U.S. action in Cuba, Trump replied: "I think it’s just going to fall. I don’t think we need any action. Looks like it’s going down. It’s going down for the count."

I remember reading an interview a year or two ago, with a now elderly lady who was around for the Castro revolution in ‘59. She was complaining, but only a little, about the normally sporadic electricity of only a few hours a day being completely down routinely. She said she was trying to be patient, but the promised Utopia of 65 years ago is starting to wear a little thin. Very sad.
Banana Daquiri’s for everyone!
Mikey, how do you say banana daiquiri in Spanish?
I saw a meme featuring a couple of kittens and the caption, “Chaos is not going to happen on its own.” Cuba isn’t going to fall because the people who would have caused the chaos got onto rafts and paddled to Miami. Had they stayed, the communist government would be long gone. I understand not wanting to be the one to fight for freedom. Anyone doing that has a greater chance of being killed than if they get on a raft and head for Miami. So, potential freedom in Miami or 90% chance of death at home. Pretty easy decision. An individual, who dares not confide in anyone for fear of betrayal is not going to accomplish much.
The Cuban may be rotten to the core. But it won’t fall without a push. I’m just as happy to let it stand as I wouldn’t want us to own the results.
Trump is more than happy to give it a push. Bigly.
Wouldn’t that pull the rug completely out from under the left.
It should be an administration priority to restore the hemisphere.
What was that term I read last night?
“Donroe” doctrine?
That stated, isn’t it convenient how attention has now shifted from ‘Russia collusion’. J6, plandemic, 2020 election fraud, etc… /s
Trump does seem to have a habit of understating his opinions when he’s got some type of plan b, or plan c.
My guess is that there will be a coup, by the outraged Cubans....the place just cannot thrive or maybe even survive anymore. If coup occurs, the u.s. will be there to form to a non Communist restructuring. Lots of sugar and coffee can be grown there. They used to grow about 4 times the amount of coffee back in 1962. Sugar production down more than 10 times. The place is so backward, in real estate terms, it would be a tear down and fixer. A lesson for Commiefornia and NYC.
This should lock up the Venezuelan and Cuban vote for the next election.
La banana daiquiri es mucho bueno.
Cuba could be a worldwide destination resort. The place could be fantastic. Big money will flow in to rebuild it.

A lot of countries that hate the US will feel the fall of Maduro from power.
Everything from the trade partnerships they had to the oil not being available.
President Trump knows how the financial markets work and he plays them like a fiddle.
Venezuela and Cuba needed drug money to shore up their gov’ts because it is their only source of revenue. Their economies are dead. Columbia and Brazil are next, their economies are dead and drug money from cartels are keeping them afloat.
Mexico was their biggest supplier in 2024 and they do have their own oil reserves. I don’t believe they want any more heavy crude for distilling than they get from their own reserves. They seem to like the easier light from mex for gas and such. And they really can’t pay for the stuff so they can’t just buy it. So are we now going to be subsidizing cuba?
Yes, but you missed the Godfather reference
If Trump plans a similar leadership dismissal as done in Venezuela, then I do not think it will go off as smooth. The Castro regime implemented strong military measures to ensure staying in power. The same likely applies to today.
In other words, any military intervention to depose leadership will meet with numerous US casualties and likely failing.
On the other hand, if Trump is waiting for the regime to fall on it’s own, there will be plenty of younger commie military people to fill the leadership void.
