A daycare owner in Washington state has said that he is "flabbergasted" by the amount of money alleged Somali fraudsters in the daycare industry are getting in comparison to the subsidies his daycare and others in the industry usually receive on a normal basis.
According to Center Square, the outlet went to a number of Washington-based daycare centers run by Somalis, and only one of the daycares had any children inside. “Anyone who's in the industry is, like, flabbergasted,” said daycare owner David McMullan. “How are they getting that money and we're not?”
McMullan, who is also the chair of the Pierce County Republicans, said that his wife has been in the daycare center business for a few years, but is not getting anywhere near the payments from the government.
“We have Little Patriots Academy. We have two currently functioning daycare centers. We also have a preschool called Buttons and Bows that's in Puyallup. We've spent a lot of time with DCYF (Department of Children, Youth & Families) and all the different regulations that make it very difficult to actually operate a daycare center,” he said.

In the case of some of the home-run daycare centers in Washington, the amount per child is in the tens of thousands of dollars, the outlet reported. "I want to see which program gets them that much money per head because I want to get involved in it," McMullan said.

My wife was in daycare over 40 years. We thought about starting our own day care but the overhead $$$ is enormous.
Setting yourself up for lawsuits and bankruptcy.
The govt never pays on time, of all all.
Qualified teachers are hard to come by.
Food, nutrition, legal
Rules, mega mega govt oversight.
We have friends that own day cares and they never made squat compared to the millions the fraudulent centers did.
Well the fraudulent ones could if they had NO Legit Expenses. Like teachers, meals, supplies, unemployment, health benefits, paid leave, etc, etc

Let’s doo some math here.
Average teacher to student ratios are about 1:6. Infant are more than toddlers.
So a day care with 120 children would need about 20 teachers.
Say 3 cooks, 4 house cleaners. A director, secretary. And maybe 2 more support staff.
This is say 30 employees. At low washes, unemployment benefits, insurance, etc, easily 1.4 million a year.
Meals would be about another 250,000 a year
Supplies about 75,000 a year
Now you are about $1,800,000.00 a year
So if you get paid 2 million a year and have no expenses, blammo, big $$$
Any expenses could be verified in 30 seconds.
PLUS, I looked and I read where less that 8,000 state paid children in day care.
If you have a husband fraudulent daycares with supposedly 20 to 150 students.
This would be over 10,000 children.
Looks like the math ain’t mathing.
