An abandoned box of NYPD uniforms was found in Borough Park on Tuesday. Police say a 911 call led them to the discovery around 8:30 p.m. Officers found pants, shirts, jackets and hats, officials say. The items were taken to the 66th Precinct for safekeeping.

That would be my guess as well. It was a trick of the old-time gangsters, and was how the St. Valentine’s massacre was carried out in 1929.
Today I wouldn’t first suspect gangsters. I’d suspect Muslims.
Morale in the NYPD is so bad (and is about to get a lot worse) that I would expect to see entire warehouses looted and the contents sold to the highest bidder on the black market.

This is more likely related to a television and movie wardrobe company that rented uniforms for extras in the many New York City police shows such as 'Law and Order'.
It's possible that someone at the wardrobe company dumped the boxes at the curb for garbage collection instead of being responsible with them.
Local news runs cover for mandamni’s supposedly incompetent bureaucracy by ‘reporting’ the uniforms as “abandoned.”
No wonder local ‘news’ in the ‘land of somali fraud’ missed said fraud. /s
These uniforms were stolen. Removed from a warehouse or ‘fallen off the back of a truck’...no matter. STOLEN.
That they were ‘found’ is the tell, as is how this is being reported.
Over the holidays I was visiting family. ‘news’ being on the tv was unavoidable. Multiple times I orated “you shouldn’t watch the news; it’s bad for your sanity” and “it’s not ‘news’: It’s just someone’s narrative which has no bearing upon you personally whatsoever.”
Cut the cord.
Just what terrorists need to infiltrate large events to create death and mayhem - and then escape.
Or perhaps a statement from police officers that they’re about to quit.

When I was a lieutenant at Ft. Riley our battalion got a major who was clearly out of his depth. We used to joke that he had been a homeless person that found a major's uniform in a dumpster and decided to keep wearing it when he realized people were saluting him and calling him, "sir."
Reminds me of the stacks of bricks that “mysteriously” showed up for the BML riots.
