Illegal drugs are a major negative on the US economy.
1. Drug addicts steal to pay for their drugs.
2. Drug addicts flood the court system and cause us to spend lots of money to incarcerate them.
3. Drug addicts do not work.
4. Drug addicts live on welfare programs.
5. Drug addicts cause us to employ more police, prosecuters,judges, mental health providers than would be necessary and the above workers could be productive instead of a government expense.
Deporting thousands of gang members has to have helped.
