A 65-year-old woman was fatally stabbed at a Barnes & Noble store in Florida, authorities said.
A suspect is in custody, according to police.
The incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on Monday at a Barnes & Noble in Palm Beach Gardens, according to police.
Officers responding to the stabbing found the victim -- identified by police as Rita Loncharich -- inside the store and "immediately rendered aid," the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department said.
She was transported to a local hospital, where she died from her injuries, police said.

You’d think one would be safe in a Barnes & Noble store. Riff-raff don’t normally patronize bookstores, and it was probably jammed with Christmas shoppers.
He was there to pick up some books to start his path of becoming a doctor.
What is it with B&N stores these days? We used to hang out at ours occasionally, but then homeless wanderers started frequenting the Cafe area, often begging customers to buy them a sandwich. The last time we were there there was a massively obese, smelly guy in a corner chair snoring like a bear.
It's almost as if the CRS previously swept them under the rug?
Now we're getting a least one horrific crime a week, and often against white females (have not seen a photo yet of the decedent in this case).
It’s an amazing culture though.

Once we were able to go shopping or to movies, concerts, retaurants, etc. with hardly a concern beyond a banged door in the parking lot.
Now we have to be the alert, on guard and suspicious of just about everyone.
We have had much of the enjoyment of our everyday lives stolen from us and now have to be wary and cautious instead of happy and carefree.
