Repeat offender allegedly kills Ohio man just days after nonprofit pays his bail
Fox News ^ | December 23, 2025 | Adam Sabes

Donnie Allen allegedly shot and killed 27-year-old Benjamin McComas at a Cleveland light rail station around 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, according to Fox 8. Allen was charged with aggravated murder and arraigned on a $1 million bond.

Court records reviewed by Fox News Digital show Allen was charged with drug possession, breaking and entering, vandalism, obstructing official business and possessing criminal tools in relation to a separate incident at a Cleveland light rail station on Dec. 4.

His bond was initially set at $15,000, which was later lowered by Judge Joy Kennedy to $5,000 on Dec. 8. In that case, court records show that The Bail Project, a nonprofit, provided the money for Allen to be bonded out of jail, and he was released. The Bail Project paid $500 on Dec. 9 for Allen to be released from the Cuyahoga County Jail.

Allen was arrested for the alleged murder of McComas just five days after being released from jail.

The murder suspect is a repeat offender who has previously either pleaded guilty or was convicted of the following crimes:

In response to a request for comment, a spokesperson for The Bail Project told Fox News Digital: "The Bail Project condemns violence and we are deeply concerned by the recent allegation involving Mr. Allen."

"Our mission at The Bail Project is to ensure that people are not jailed pretrial solely because they cannot afford bail. Our organization exists to address inequities in a system where wealth often determines who remains incarcerated before trial," the group said. "Any loss of life is a tragedy, and we remain committed to building a fairer, more just pretrial system that respects due process, promotes safety, and avoids a misguided reliance on cash bail."

That is one big pile of infantile, irresponsible, liberal pablum, hokum, and drivel. It reads like something K. Harris would say.

"The Bail Project condemns violence...

Yet they bail out violent criminals and unleash them back on society.

Exactly- once they are the victims, the families of the “no cash bail” politicians become victims, this will all change...

This organization should be sued out of existence and all board members sued personally.

The Bail Project are scumbags.

Devastating,’ nonprofit says after bailing out Missouri man accused of killing wife

Hours after a nonprofit group bailed a Missouri man out of jail, he beat his wife so severely that she died five days later, police said, according to KMOV.

Samuel Lee Scott, 54, is accused of killing Marcia Johnson, 54, on April 9, KMOV reported. She died on April 14 — and two days later, Scott, of St. Louis, was charged with first-degree murder in connection to his wife’s death.

Prior to the murder charge, Scott had been booked into jail on April 5 on a misdemeanor domestic assault charge after he was accused of hitting his wife on “the right side of her face with his fist” in January, KTVI reported.

“While he was in jail, (his) wife got a restraining order against him which prohibited him from getting within 300 feet of her,” KSDK reported. “But one day later, his $5,000 bail was posted by The Bail Project and he went to her home ... around 7:45 p.m. At around 11 p.m., a friend of his wife brought her to the hospital after finding her bleeding from her head.”..

It sure seems like they’re always black repeat offenders that they’re letting out with no bail. This whole racial, ‘restorative justice’ movement is just stupid and dangerous.

These organizations would not exist if not for racist, patronizing, guilt-laden leftists.
What a bunch of ignorant tools. People getting murdered, raped, robbed, all over the nation because of groups like this and the leftist no cash bail policies.

Bail Project Tied to Antifa U-Haul Received Millions from Bill Gates, UMG, Jack Dorsey, Among Others

National File can reveal in further detail those behind the funding of the Bail Project, which include Bill Gates, Universal Music Group, and others.

The Bail Project has come under fire, after it was revealed that their employee, Holly Zoller, was the renter and driver of a U-Haul that provided shields and other supplies to antifa rioters before the chaos in Louisville yesterday.

As National File reported, a group of concerned citizens tracked Zoller down:

One member of the anonymous group called Zoller, posing as a U-Haul employee, noting that the company had seen “hundreds of Twitter posts” about the U-Haul truck “being used to protest illegally.”

“We handed out supplies. That’s it,” Zoller said, including “umbrellas, water, masks, goggles, gloves.” The caller says that they saw signs of” abolish the police,” to which Zoller said that was her First Amendment right.” What does it matter what I posted on a sign?” she added.

Zoller then denied that she protested, but then was caught admitting that she “drove the U-Haul truck and dropped items off.” After saying this, Zoller goes quiet. When she returns to the call, she says the caller should talk to her lawyer and that she would not be answering any more questions.
