Jewish Man Brutally Beaten Last Night in Limassol, Cyprus

An Israeli man was violently assaulted and lost an eye in a horrific attack overnight in Limassol, Cyprus. According to media reports, the victim was apparently overheard speaking Hebrew on his phone outside his hotel when a group of local youths allegedly recognized the language, hurled insults, before viciously attacking him.
Cyprus police are investigating the incident as a possible hate crime.

Limassol is on the Greek side of the island, where the ancient castle is located. Stayed there for a few nights once a few years ago, no problems with anyone.

In the 1970s Turkey invaded Cyprus and took over the northern part of the island Lots of Moslems live on Cyprus

There are three religions on Limassol, Christians, Jews, and beach boys. There is a mideival mosque, right next to the mideival church. No, I’m thinking Larnaka, which has five religions, Christians, Jews, Muslims, beach boys and artsy fartsy bohemians. But no artsy fartsy bohemians on Limassol. Or Muslims. Round up the usual suspects.
