Immigrants’ rights advocates are sounding the alarm about noise machines placed high above the parking lot on light poles at a Home Depot in Cypress Park.
The machines put out a constant high-pitched beeping noise that has day laborers, like Jose De La Torre, who goes there in hopes of finding work, reaching for earplugs to try and block the piercing sounds out.
“It’s bad, it’s bad,” De La Torre told KTLA. “It’s annoying. You have to walk away, always use your earplugs. Otherwise, people get headaches.”
De La Torre is not alone. Many of the other day laborers who frequent the parking lot started using earplugs soon after the machines were installed last month, though they only block out so much of the noise, he said.
“What’s the purpose?” he added. “I guess they probably don’t like the laborers here.”

Home Depot said they do not work with ICE and have launched several initiatives to keep their stores safe. In a statement to KTLA, the company stated the Cypress Park location is unique and the noise machines are intended to deter illegal overnight parking.
“To conflate this issue with immigration enforcement or to say that we are cooperating with immigration enforcement activities is just false,” the statement continued. “We are not informed when these activities are going to happen, and we’re in no way involved in the operations.”
De La Torre said the company’s statement made sense to him, but added that he wished there was another way to solve the problem.

I’ve stopped going to Home Depot because I don’t want to be associated with illegal foreign aliens. If they can’t stand the noise, go the hell home where there isn’t any noise and you can siesta all day long.

I have no sympathy for the lady who runs the advocacy program. If she likes it, have them show up at her office each morning. If they are illegals and get arrested, perhaps there is a message for the illegals. I see no value is a person or program who promotes breaking US laws.

So home Depot goes from a sanctuary for illegal aliens at all of their venues to this. I guess Trump sent Home Depot the message.

I would not likely shop there. I don’t want to run an acoustic gantlet to buy a drill.
Of course drills make noise too but I am prepared and protected for that.
Wouldn’t calling ICE be cheaper?
