So, four years to have a lunar colony?

Crazy.

Well that would certainly be a first if we can do that

Think big!!!

Donald sure does and finds way to make things happen. I’ve always loved that about him. Admired him decades ago when he was in NYC real estate. Trump Tower is magnificent and he got nothing but criticism when he started the project.

We better get a base there as possible. We have been left behind in weapons technology and better keep up in Space.

To the Moon again by 2028? That’s awfully soon.
After rushing other big projects, such as the Covid Vaxes, perhaps we should take more time proceeding to the Moon.
Other than bragging rights, what are the incentives for Moon travel? If the Moon holds natural resources, the costs of mining and transportation back to earth are likely to be explosively expensive. And that’s if all goes well.

Other than creating a bottomless money pit, what is this push for Mars even about? We would need people willing to sacrifice their lives on a guaranteed One Way Trip. All, just to collect research data. Meanwhile, many Americans made homeless by various fires and hurricanes are still homeless, living in tents or under tarps.

No.

” and better keep up in Space.”

Ahead in Space thanks to Musk, SpaceX.
But the Chinese are very close behind.
Race to the moon between China and the US will be very close.

Sounds like a bad idea.

99.99% it won’t be funded.

Grassley, Lindsey Gee, Jon Ernst are just waiting for Trump to move on.

I don’t see it happening.

Some of us are old enough to remember when We The People were freaked out enough about the Soviet’s Sputnik that, and JFK’s behest, “We All” committed to putting a man on the moon “before the end of the decade”. And by the Grace of GOD we DID it!

Like the hundreds of Billions of tax payer dollars Biden spent on illegals who Biden deliberately imported?

There was an X post from Musk yesterday where he said the Mars trips will be funded almost entirely by Starlink profits.
So far, Starship development costs have been covered by SpaceX using mostly Starlink money. Government has very little to do with it.
