Almost two years after a Democrat-elected prosecutor secured a conviction against then-candidate Donald Trump, a New York appeals court could decide soon on the appeal of the Manhattan felony conviction.
“There is no upside for the courts to string this along. So, we could see a ruling soon,” said Dan Backer, counsel for the watchdog group Coolidge Reagan Foundation, who co-wrote an amicus brief filed Monday and first shared with The Daily Signal.
The brief, filed in the First Department Appellate Division of the New York Supreme Court, calls for reversal of Trump’s conviction.

Bragg’s team argued that Trump’s hush money payment subverted the 2016 election and was effectively a campaign finance violation that Trump covered up. The Coolidge Reagan Foundation contends that state prosecutors cannot enforce federal campaign finance laws under the Federal Election Campaign Act.

That label of “Felon” served it’s purpose during the last part of the 2024 Presidential Campaign. It probably got a few ‘real’ felons to sympathize with and take another look at Candidate Trump and his message. Discarding that label now would be a good thing. He will always have that famous/infamous Mug Shot to refer to, as a clear example of the Dems pursuing unfounded charges, enabled by crooked judges.
As long as they subtract a few years from the 641 years of possible jail time for Trump, I am all for it!
Justice will reign in the end only because he had the MONEY to fight.
Look at the damage they inflicted to lives all around, of those who spent millions and still couldn’t hold out.

We needed a candidate with the tenacity of Trump who had lots of money to fight the inevitable attacks against him by the Swamp. Anyone else would have crumbled.

This is so stupid. Trump would not have entered in said agreement had he not been running for President? Moronic. This should have been dismissed immediately at the trial court level. The fact it has gone this far at all is a farce.

Just remember, the left doesn’t care. Now, that having been said, because there are links between Trump and Epstein, that proves Trump is a pedo. They don’t care how much evidence comes out that shows that Trump didn’t DO anything, they don’t care. They need SOMETHING. And that’s the latest.
It seems there was real possible cause to drop the hammer on Joe with all that he was guilty of. Pres. Trump may not be perfect, but he was close enough to be an example for Democrats to follow.
Under NY law he is not a felon unless convicted AND SENTENCED. My understanding is that he has never been sentenced.
