Thousands of immigrant truck drivers are breathing a sigh of relief after California said Tuesday it’s preparing to reissue commercial licences it planned to revoke after federal pressure.

State transportation officials confirmed that the Department of Motor Vehicles will start reissuing the contested licences to 17,000 immigrant drivers who were sent 60-day cancellation notices on Nov. 6.

Then make California partially responsible for any accidents caused by immigrants who lack driving capacity and pay part of the costs. If someone is found criminally guilty, someone from the administration goes to jail...accessory.

Why doesn’t Trump’s DoT send California’s governor et al a notice that states that issue driving licenses to illegal aliens will not receive federal funds, and all persons involved in issuing such licenses will be prosecuted?

I drove into California about six years ago to visit an old friend. I was stopped at the border and my vehicle searched to make sure I wasn’t bringing in any banned plants or animals. Later I told my friend it would make more sense to check outbound traffic. Maybe California should restrict those 17,000 illegal alien truck drivers to California roads only. Don’t let them out of the state!

The granting of CDL licenses to illegal aliens is completely out of control

These drivers are totally unqualified, they do not follow any rules , many do not speak or read English and they come from cultures with no respect for the lives and property of others .

They are a danger to everyone on the road and they are taking over entire segments of the trucking industry

It’s time for the insurance industry to to crack down on these drivers

It should be clear to ALL by now the Communist left Democrats are using all forms of immigration to not only destroy countries in Europe, Germany, France, UK, Sweden, etc, but also the United States.

Open borders, endless chain immigration policies in the U.S., were clearly meant to subvert, undermine and bankrupt the U.S. No question about it.

I just got my “Real ID.” I had to check a box that said “I affirm I am eligible for the real ID.” Or some convoluted BS at the Oregon DMV. The worker didn’t even check anything like my lease agreement or passport.

I had a commercial license in California years in the 90s. I had to train for months and have exams by Highway Patrol (fire tanker truck). I had to pass my medical every year. Someone in the DMV is getting kick backs.

Real ID is needed for air travel, not a CDL.

Uhmmm.....

Real ID Act Bill text.....

Title II: Improved Security for Driver's Licenses and Personal Identification Cards - (Sec. 202) Prohibits Federal agencies from accepting State issued driver's licenses or identification cards unless such documents are determined by the Secretary to meet minimum security requirements, including the incorporation of specified data, a common machine-readable technology, and certain anti-fraud security features.

Sets forth minimum issuance standards for such documents that require: (1) verification of presented information; (2) evidence that the applicant is lawfully present in the United States; and (3) issuance of temporary driver's licenses or identification cards to persons temporarily present that are valid only for their period of authorized stay (or for one year where the period of stay is indefinite).

(Sec. 203) Requires States, as a condition of receiving grant funds or other financial assistance under this title, to participate in the interstate compact regarding the sharing of driver's license data (the Driver License Agreement).
