Less so with the critique from certain Americans. The sort who are perpetually insisting it’s inappropriate to talk about gun laws when the bullets are killing their own children, but are now eager to shout “I told you so”.
A small sample, here.
“Australia has among the toughest gun laws in the world, and ‘diversity is their strength’. Pray for the victims, and for wisdom to follow.”
“I was reliably told that Australia’s strict gun laws eliminated mass shootings from ever happening. I was reliably told that there were only upsides to mass migration.”

This country recognised gun violence was an unacceptable problem, decided to do something substantive about it, and decades later this one horrific tragedy has stained our efforts. At least we’ve made an effort.
Australia copping sledges from Americans on this is like a straight-A student who failed one test being mocked and pelted with spitballs, by the delinquent kid at the back of the class who’s been made to repeat two years in a row.

I hear the shooters were known to their FBI, and in spite of the tough gun laws for citizens the father had a gun license and six guns.
There are two major problems that have lead to this. A nation-wide gun-free zone, and welcoming in the most radical and violent cultists in the world.
it’s not the guns. Vehicles knives even rocks can kill too. Airplanes as well as we learned almost 25 years ago.

The word isn’t “blame” but “IDENTIFY.”
Disarming potential victims just guarantees more victims.
Think of it as socioeconomics, applying fundamental economics “law” to social issues.
If you get MORE of what you subsidize, and LESS of what you TAX, by disarming more people, you get more VICTIMS.
The solution is guns. In all capable hands, and training from childhood up to have the will to use them and the wisdom to know when.

If a few concealed carry individuals had been in attendance, the carnage would have been decreased dramatically.

Somone on the news shows tonight said Australia’s solution to the violent jihadis shooting people is to tighten the Australian gun restriction laws even more so ONLY violent jihadis will have any guns.
