On October 21, a commercial truck collided with an SUV along Interstate 10 a few miles east of Los Angeles. The dashcam footage instantly went viral: we witness the final moments of husband and wife Clarence and Lisa Nelson as their vehicle, stopped in traffic, is vaporized by the truck. Its driver? A 21-year-old illegal immigrant from India, Jashanpreet Singh, who didn’t stop or even attempt to slow down before impact.
In August, Harjinder Singh, an Indian migrant who entered America illegally in 2018 and was (again, illegally) issued a commercial driver’s license by both Washington and California, attempted to execute an illegal U-turn with a semi across the Florida turnpike. Failing to check before making the turn, Mr. Singh pulled his truck right in front of a minivan doing 70pmh that had no chance to slow down or stop. The impact instantly killed all three people in the minivan. An image of Singh standing next to his truck, showing what many saw as no remorse, went viral along with dashcam footage and a video of Singh struggling to speak English to police.
Not being able to communicate with police is one thing, but if you can’t speak English you probably can’t read American road signs.

I Google searched CDL requirements: posted below. Have the illegal immigrants involved in all these fatal crashes met the requirements for CDL’s?
To get a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), you need a valid regular license, must meet age requirements (18+ in-state, 21+ interstate), pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug test, have a clean driving record (no recent DUIs/major offenses), provide identity/SSN, complete Entry-Level Driver Training (ELDT) with a registered provider, get a Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP), and pass knowledge/skills tests (vehicle inspection, basic control, road test)
A friend I’ve know for over three decades is a truck driver. CDL and heavy carrying (e.g., steal) license. He has been talking about this for months. It’s a real problem.
Those are the requirements per Google. I should have put quotation marks around the requirements.

Many Leftist states have been handing out CDLs like candy to unqualified illegal aliens. CA, NY, WA, etc.
A good friend is a CDL medium haul independent trucker, he’s following all this with keen interest. All these illegals killed freight hauling rates in the last 5 years.
Illegal immigrants could jump in a vehicle and drive without a license and cause lots of damage.
But illegal immigrants shouldn’t be here in the first place and every day they overstay, they are a clear and present danger.
And any system that enables them to actually get a CDL is the kind of system I voted in 2024 to obliterate.

There really need to be more prosecutions of the people who hire illegals, not just deportations.
