Democrats, create Project 2027 and hope your wave comes

What a difference a year makes.

After devastating defeats in 2024, Democrats are closing out 2025 with wind in their sails. They won double-digit victories in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races. And last week they got a stronger-than-expected showing in a Tennessee special election.

Republicans and Democrats now talk openly of a likely tsunami of wins for Democrats in the 2026 midterms. If true, Democrats better get a surfboard and make plans to ride that big wave into the 2028 presidential election.

That means creating their own version of the Republicans’ Project 2025.

They will need Project 2027 for their first hundred days of a Democratic majority in the House — and possibly in the Senate — as a game plan before facing tough waves of questions that could knock them down.

Question No. 1 will be the best way to deal with calls for a third Trump impeachment. Already, skeptics among Democrats are asking if it is smart politics to spend valuable energy focusing on a lame duck, a man who will shortly be out of office.

In January 2027 a new Democratic majority can’t waste time debating impeachment. Now is the time to make deals about the best path and send a clear message to the party’s base about what to expect from a Democratic majority in the House.

Whatever the final call, it is best made now. Political capital, once spent, is gone forever.

That leads to a second question. The 2026 wave for Democrats is likely to be triggered by voters demanding lower inflation, cheaper groceries, and better health care, including protection for the Affordable Care Act.

Getting congressional Democrats to work on those powerful political issues is at the foundation of the Democrats’ campaign in 2028. What’s the plan?

That also entails deciding whether to spend time...

If the RATs get control of the House on Jan 20, 2027, they will vote to impeach President Trump the same day.

Juan has never been too bright. It doesn’t appear he is improving as he ages.

Could he be developing dementia?

It’s the healthcare subsidy cliff that will do the Republicans in. They should have had a plan to address that day one. Significant numbers of Republican voters with small businesses have been forced into Obamacare, and are terrified of the cliff. I’ve never seen them this angry - normally Republican voters, but this year will not vote, or they will vote Democrat instead.

I think it was more a question of who the GOP ran in those elections than it was a precursor of the future voting habits.

Yep. The sad part is that Republicans have nothing to do with the Obamacare debacle. Instead of trying to sell a new insurance plan before New Years, Republicans should extend for one year. The Democrats will vote it down for some reason.

They could also do a modified subsidy where you pay back 10 -12 cents on every dollar over the AGI limit. 100% payback for one extra dollar is insane.

Democrats created a poison pill and the Republicans were too stupid and arrogant to address it. If they don’t do something to address it, I could easily see a 100 seat swing.

Newt Gingrich mentioned on FOX that Ronald Reagan faced a recession in his first term and the polls had either Mondale or John Glenn beating Reagan in the upcoming 1984 presidential race.

Then, the economic policies of Reagan kicked in and the economy was going like gangbusters. Reagan went on to win 49 states in 1984.

Gingrich continued, saying that Trump’s policies should cause an economic boom in 2026. If that happens, Gingrich said, the GOP will easily keep the House and Senate. If not, the midterms would be trouble for the Republicans.

IF you vote for dimorats because you want gubmint cheese then you are a dimorat. Subsidies are nothing but welfare payments. We are better off without those kinds of voters. If the dims win then so be it. The useful idiots will suffer with the rest of us on the way to the bottom.

I forgot that the House and Senate are sworn in on Jan 3 and not Jan 20.

You need to research. The insurance market was destroyed. The subsidy cliff punishes many middle class people that are self employed. What they are seeing in real time is the Republicans supporting a system where the welfare class gets a full ride, while they get screwed. Just watch what happens if nothing is done. I am seeing Trump voters spitting fire over that issue. I’ve never seen Republican voters this disappointed in my life.

Too bad, so sad. If Repugs support subsidies they are supporting obamacare. Simple as that. I will not vote for any repug that votes to extend the dimorat subsidies. If they get extended, they will never end, and the acceleration of the coming collapse continues. The next step will be single payer. Just like the dims wanted in the first place and the repugs will own that.

I hope you aren’t on a subsidized plan like Medicare. That would make you a hypocrite.

Thats all they are gonna do. Or maybe jail or delete their political opponents. The GOP needs to get off their asses.
