— Several people throughout California were arrested in connection with a series of semi-truck and trailer thefts in Sutter County and surrounding areas. .
The first reported theft was on Aug. 3, when the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office responded to Larkin Road in Live Oak for reports of a stolen semi-truck and trailer. The person who reported the property stolen said the trailer was carrying about $400,000 worth of product. The Woodland Police Department reportedly found the trailer abandoned. However, it was empty.
Additionally, the Sacramento Police Department found the semi-truck within Sacramento city limits.
Nearly three weeks later, on Aug. 25, Sutter County deputies responded to an attempted truck and trailer theft on Paseo Road. The suspects fled after being confronted by the vehicle owner, according to SCSO. Based on suspect descriptions, deputies believed that whoever tried to steal the truck and trailer was also responsible for the Aug. 3 theft and possibly other thefts in the area.
After an investigation that included the review of surveillance cameras, detectives identified the suspects as Rajbir Singh and Karanjit Singh of Manteca, and Gautam Ajrawat of Sacramento. A search warrant was served at their residences on Nov. 25.
At the Manteca residence, officers said they found several illegal firearms, including a fully automatic AR-15 style rifle. Karanjit Singh and Gautam Ajrawat were arrested for alleged grand theft and conspiracy. However, Rajbir Singh was not found at the time. All firearm-related charges were forwarded to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.
On Tuesday, Rajbir Singh was located and arrested with assistance from the Modesto Police Department. He was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail and also faces charges of grand theft and conspiracy. He is awaiting extradition to Sutter County.

Hijackers with names like Tom Laval need not bother trying.

I will bet my bottom dollar, they were not here on H1-B visa. Those H1-B workers have the lowest crime rate compared to any others.
Just doing the hijackings Americans won’t do.
Sutter County, and Yuba City in particular, is full of Sikhs, and has been for decades. Most have the last name “Singh”.
They probably just got fired from their job of DRIVING those trucks, due to all the accidents of their buddies and the investigations by ICE, DOT, etc, and figured to get revenge and a little dough by stealing what they would have been paid for driving.
I would agree these people are not likely H1-Bs.
I wonder what the “product” was - Kalifornia has rabies....
