Kilmar Abrego Garcia freed from federal immigration detention, his attorney’s office says

PHILIPSBURG, Pa. (AP) — Kilmar Abrego Garcia has been released from an immigration detention center in Pennsylvania following an order from a federal judge issued Thursday, according to his attorney’s office.

Abrego Garcia’s attorney confirmed he was released just before 5 p.m. Thursday and told The Associated Press he plans to return to Maryland, where he has an American wife and child and where he has lived for years after originally immigrating to the U.S. illegally as a teenager. Attorney Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg said he’s not sure what comes next, but he’s prepared to defend his client against further deportation efforts.

U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis in Maryland earlier Thursday ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement to let Abrego Garcia go immediately, writing that federal authorities had detained him again after his return to the United States without any legal basis. The judge gave prosecutors until 5 p.m. EST to formally respond to the release order.

The ruling marked a major victory for the immigrant whose wrongful deportation to a notorious prison in El Salvador made him a flashpoint of the Trump administration’s immigration crackdown.

“For this reason, the Court will GRANT Abrego Garcia’s Petition for immediate release from ICE custody,” the judge wrote.

He had been held at Moshannon Valley Processing Center about 115 miles (185 kilometers) northeast of Pittsburgh.

“The government still has plenty of tools in their toolbox, plenty of tricks up their sleeve,” Sandoval-Moshenberg said, adding he fully expects the government to again take steps to deport his client. “We’re going to be there to fight to make sure there is a fair trial.”

The Department of Homeland Security sharply criticized the judge’s decision and vowed to appeal, calling the ruling “naked judicial activism” by a judge appointed during the Obama administration.

“This order...”

Hopefully, the government will keep a close eye on him. He’ll violate the law again, shortly. That’s because its what he does. It’s who he is.

So they just rolled over for another judicial despot.

Has the National Guard in CA also been turned back over to Newsom to assist the invasion of the US as the judge ordered?

Trump needs some lawyers in his administration who know how to fight and are willing to fight.

This man should have been quietly gathered up and sent out. Why did he ever receive so much notice?

It’s time for all of us to realize we are no longer a country of laws. Our Republic is slipping away. We are just holding out hope that the Titanic won’t sink, while we clutch the stern railing.

ANYONE in open defiance our FEDERAL IMMIGRATION LAWS should be IMMEDIATELY arrested and that INCLUDES multiple members of Congress who took an OATH to protect and defend our country.

I AM SICK AND TIRED of judges who wave their giant MIDDLE FINGERS at our laws. They of ALL people should know THEY are TRAITORS as well.

ARREST THEM ALL.

This DOJ is the worst DOJ in the history of the agency. A lot of big mouths threatening maggots who keep peeing themselves but threatening is all they can do. How many have they put in jail? They’re letting all of the illegal alien criminals get their way. Screw the DOJ. It and the SCOTUS needs to be shut down. They are a waste of money. While we’re at it, get rid of the worthless Executive Branch. It is now run the Amnestynistas. The DemonRATS own the so-called judiciary in this crap hole. The criminals own the population. They can stab you, shoot you in the
back, cut your throat or set you on fire. The bums who now call themselves Americans just start their cowardly shrugs.

Democrats got the judges acting in unison to stop Trump. Even if the SCOTUS says do something...they come up with another angle.

Meanwhile the GOP in Indiana can’t even redistrict to get rid of the two democrats they have.

GOP Sucks. It’s time for Trump to blow it up and just start a new party.

“Does this mean he can resume his human trafficking trade?”

The reason recidivism is so great among released convicts is because they go back to doing what they were doing that got them convicted in the first place. Suppose you’re a plumber and working as a plumber is illegal. The only thing you know and are good at is plumbing. All your contacts are in plumbing. Now, you’re dumped back into society with debts and obligations and no other marketable skills. Chances are you’d go right back to plumbing. If they keep an eye on him, I suspect he’ll go right back to what he was doing before. It’s not like he knows how to do anything else. And if he gets a real job, he’s still illegal. He’ll probably be violating something. We have to be patient.

He should have learned to code back when Hillary suggested it.

How so?

These judges are defying a rare 9-0 Supreme Court decision sanctioning them for abuse of power

DOJ is just complying with the law

"I thought this muffer had been approved for deportation to some African country? What happened to that?"

I thought so too, but I think he's been detained here because he faces Federal human trafficking charges.
