Democrat Eileen Higgins has flipped the Miami mayor’s office, defeating Republican Emilio Gonzalez and marking the latest sign of the party’s momentum heading into next year’s midterms, according to Decision Desk HQ.
Higgins is the first Democrat to become mayor of Miami since 1997. She bested Gonzalez, a former Miami city manager who served on President Trump’s Homeland Security Department transition team, to succeed incumbent Mayor Francis Suarez (R). The race is technically nonpartisan.

If we don’t do something about fraudulent ballots, illegal aliens on voter roles, ID’s to vote, etc, the GOP is going to lose every election here on out.

One interpretation I heard was Noah wasn’t really so terrifically saintly but in those evil days with so many rotten people, he was relatively good in comparison.

Who has the power?
So one of the few Republican-led major cities flips. Another bad sign. The 2026 election is still a long way away and there is time to pull out of the doom loop, but the usual suspects need to snap out of denial. We are in trouble.
Trump will try to make the 2026 election all about himself. So will the democrats. Meanwhile, Republicans all over the country in battleground districts are looking for ways to stand up in town meetings and appeal to the swing voters who, right now, are flipping dem.
Going RINO and selling out the side is suicidal. But so is just swearing blood oaths to blindly follow the man on the white horse ... who is himself flipping on issues so fast it makes your head spin ... while demanding absolute, unquestioning obedience from everyone else on our team. You cannot survive in a town meeting when you do a 180 overnight and try to justify it by saying that your job is to blindly follow orders.
Organization matters.
Without Trump running, they are never getting altitude.
